[whispers] Costs

If you find you get good value for money with the Australian games then by
all means play with them. We often get players changing from one license to
another because they like an aspect of a licensor. I would assume that with
the Australian license you get cheap turns and presumably less GM support
and advertising.

I wouldn't say that. GM Support been very fine. I do not play legends but like how
I'm lurking in here, I lurk in the Tavern (better lurking there, I say, much more
interesting, lots of fine reading material). My outsider opinion is that the Oz
Legends setup have a very fine GM at the helm. Less advertising of course, but even
if both of you advertise, I'm unlikely to see it except through the webpage both put
up. I don't think Harlequin will be advertsing in South East Asia at all.

We're very proud of our service - our player base is growing steadily and
we're even managing to earn more than the on-the-dole levels of pay we once
enjoyed...

Great, that why I switched playing mepbm from the Oz co to Harlequin. Just 1 turn
and my mates are already praising Harlequin for the quick service, good work, hope
you keep it up, Clint. Now if you just change a certain char of mine to what he's
supposedly should have.

Anyway, on the original questionaire. I believe both costs & time are big factors.
I'm also tired of games with less than 10 players left after 20 turns or so. So
question is,

Why players drop games ?

Of course, getting knocked silly around is a reason, another reason is that the
opposition seems a bit lame. For this, I always offer myself to advise new players
in whatever game that I'm experienced in hopes of trainning up better players, even
though they will be up against me one day.

So what other reasons are they ? and what can we do to remedy it ?

You see, I understand the game operators concerns. There are already so much less
players upon reaching the mid game, charging less maybe detrimental to them. Will
charging less insure less dropouts ? One way is to charge a premium at the start as
to cover the later costs. Anyway I usually don't like to drop out of games at this
stage. The point is, I already sunk so much money so far and pulling out means that
investment is sunk and I don't like that. Only reason why I pull out of games is
when the game operator stinks big time. Here's comes an advise then DO NOT PLAY WITH
RSI, Tempe, Arizona UNLESS YOU STAY NEARBY IN USA, SNAIL MAIL GAMES SUCK BIG TIME.
Snail mail really sucks but what always bewildered me is that how the turn reports
will always arrive either the day b4 the turn is due, the day the turn is due or the
day after the turn is due regardless whether it's a 2 weeks turnover game or a
monthly turnover game. One understands that one may miss turns due to the faster
nature of a 2 weeks turnover game but for a monthly turnover game with extra 2 weeks
for the turn report to arrive ???

Sorry, just voicing the frustations I'd with another game operator.
