Just reading the latest comments about the USA games.
2950 G93 was won by the free using the one ring. It seems like the DS didn't
get a message about the one ring being found, and they were still saying
'another steal gold coming up from the free', when the game ended.
I've played in a game when the one ring was found, and EVERYONE got a
message saying that the one ring was found near 3224. Barud-bur was
'crowded' the turn after Alas the ring slipped from the ring-bearer's
fingers midflight and rolled to another hex.
The deft message board is saying that it appears if the ring is stolen
(which is what happened in the USA game), then no message is given. We PCed
gollum (a real wimp), and we got the message. I expect picking up the ring
before the ring bearer takes it would also trigger a global message.
What are the UK experiences of the one-ring ? Maybe Deft has realised no one
tries for the ring, and has made it easlier by never putting in a global
message ? It won't be the first time that I would swear that deft has
changed the game without telling anyone. If that is the case, then I think I
would pay more attention to where the ring is from now on.
Well, both times that we found the ring (in 1650 game 83) and picked it
up the message went to everybody on our team (the free). I'm not sure if
the other
side got the message but we had no problems winning at Barad-dur (when
we finally got there).
