OK Pubmeets. When is the next one? Before Christmas? Does anyone
actually go to these pubmeets or are they a figment of Harlequins'
imagination? Everybody I've asked has never been to one!
And while were talking about team games. Every time I get my turnsheet the
'Main GM Messages' section has a plea from the GM asking for players in
this "World Championships". OK, I thought. If they need players, I'll
step forward (True, I'm not the Kasparov of the ME world but I've got a
vague idea what I should be doing). If Harlequin are short of the odd
player [and 'odd' is the word], and need just a few more people to step
forward and fill the breach - hey, I'll do it!
So I wrote a begging letter saying how I wanted to spend vast sums of money
playing their game in this new fangled championships. Did they write back
and bite my hand off? Err.. not really. In fact I got no response. What's
the situation with this then? Do you still need people or are you taunting
us lesser players?
If I was Mongolian or Peruvian i would have got in a team. But because I'm
English and working class I'm discriminated against. I think I'm going to
have to write a letter to my MP! Or even (shock) Carol at Flagship.
"Harlequin in Race Discrimination Shocker". Nothing less than a grovelling
apology and a place on the "2nd Best of the Rest" team will stop me. :-))
Seriously, how about an update on the 'World Championships'. Have you got
all the teams now or are you still recruiting?
