It seems the rules in place for scoring in the first round will
prevent most games from ending early (honorable surrender when game
is hopless, avoiding extra turn fees) as if a teammember can stay in
until T52, they team will get more points than a mass drop.
Yeah, I noticed that. I have already decided that my harad in G34 will drop
when the game gets boring (WC or not).
For the next series of games (or if all players agree in the
currently running games)would people consider a surrender option?
I'm looking at the free at game 34 for this
Say one team can decide to surrender after getting their TRs (say
they do it within 3 days of reciept) then the other team has 3 days
to accept or reject the surrender.Teams with more active players can't surrender
An accepted surrender gives the losing team 1 point (or something)
for each active nation and the winning team gets 1 point for each
active nation and maybe a 1 point bonus?
in a serious mode, I would assume the following should be covered
a) when a side surrenders it gets points for all the nations still in the
game, so i'm agreeing with you on this.
b) I think the winning side should get whatever points they would get in the
current system, provided they get more than the losing side. Not sure how
this compares to your system above.
So in g34, we would have the following system
1) if the free surrender now they would get 12 points (or however many are
still around).
2) if the free continue, then the DS kill a lot more of them. And by T52
they will only get points for the SG still holding out. Surrendering now
will get more points than holding us out.
3) if the the free win, then I want to know what civil war ripped apart a
winning DS team.
What would worry me is a side quitting on T1 so that they get 12 points, so
I would add a minimum turn before a side can surrender (so its like the
cut-off for declarations in a FA game, only in reverse).
I would also like beaten sides to surrender, and not two even sides to call
it quits for the extra points. The definition of a beaten side might be
difficult to work out, so I would accept Clint's call on the definition.
This would get us an end to the tourney before I turn 40 <g>
too late for me then
was this considered at all when the concept was formed?
I would think not.
thanks
