WoTR first draft

Random allocation sounds good to me, suck it and see.

Had a re think about the DS starting with more gold and maybe a better idea
to start with higher amounts held in stores at game start then you have the
choice of selling or using accordingly.

Once I get the first twenty five players there are several choices.

1) Randomly allocate - as it is quite a new game I am happy to do that.
2) Points allocation - with preferences
3) Normal allocation.

Any preference?

Clint

Hi,

I can well remember the first time I saw the 2950 set up. I went straight

to

Barad-dur and was disgusted to find a poxy MT/castle. If for nothing

else,

Richard gets three cheers from me for putting this mighty fortress back

to

how

we all imagined it. The Mordor DS should at least take heart from seeing

this

brute on their maps each turn.

Whether the DS prove to be outclassed economically I'm sure we'll

discover,

although the amendments seem reasonable to me and I look forward to

playing. The

only way to really test the balance of a game like this is to play it.

Are there any thoughts yet as to how positions will be allocated?

regards

Chris Soanes

What about more gold and some bigger armies - say 4 armies for the DS - IK,
DogLord, FK and something else that isn't normally that strong? Dragon Lord
gets a kicking normally.

There are two schools at present with regards to the game. One Richard and
friends who want to play on a team (any ideas how many Richard?) The others
are happy to play randomly. Would Richard et al be happy to play the DS in
this version of the game and I allocate the FP randomly?

Am happy with second option - but in this option I'm on Richard's team so
I'm biased.

Regards

Mike

I think that this is what I will go with:-

We have 22/3 so far and Richard will have a team of DS.

The FP and Neutrals will be allocated randomly, so please ask if you want to
be on the team with Richard (subject to his team's agreement), the Neutrals
(random) or the FP (random).

If you agree please specify which of the above, and if not then please
suggest something different.

Thanks

Clint
