1650 Grudge - Game 64

Glad to be playing again after a long hiatus…looking forward to playing some top line opposition, having some laughs and learning some new tricks from our adversaries.

For the peanut gallery this is the Aussie (World Champs) Team vs. a newly formed team of starving orphans with lung disease so no pressure on whom you should root for cough, wheeze and if we win the orphanage will give us real food instead of whatever we can forage for behind the rendering plant.

Here’s to a long, hard fought game with plenty of action and good fortune for me in particular. After seeing my startup, it can only get better. And hopefully this game does not become one for the bean counters. Death to those bean counters!

cheers,
dark loo

May your startup be the best thing that happens to you in this game.

Da freeps

I’m going to recruit 500 Accountants with plastic wheapons and polyester armor every turn at my capital.

Seriously though, I’m lost by your comment about “one for the bean counters”???

Our start-ups were mediocre until I saw the last few turns from our spell casting nations.

We got bumkas. Our best spell was Locate Siege Tower Keys, which is nice but doesn’t really help us. We did get it at 83% though!

Regards Herman,The Long Rider (Sort of like the Knight Rider minus the Mullet)

My best was that Murazor got a 940 ‘Reveal Himself’ E. A mage of his skill gets it at close to 100%.

Adrian
checkin in, playin the witch dude.

Dang, our plans of moving the locked siege towers to the gates of Mordor won’t work anymore. Time to go back to the drawing board.

tim

What Mordor got gates? Why didn´t anyone tell me. Now my troops will be in front of locked gates.

What to do in the meantime? Best if I count beans…one million eighthundret sixtysixthousant threehundret and twelfe …two million eighthundret sixtysix…

Kil him KILL HIM! :stab: Kill the evil bean counter!!!:bash:

Ok, turn 1 has come and gone…pretty quiet all around so nothing really to note for the peanut gallery.

I made my first and hopefully last order error trying to recruit troops instead of hiring army to prevent the Buhr Flambay. Thankfully the WK didn’t do it or my buddy playing the Woodmen would have never let me live it down.

I do like some of your opening moves…I’m scribbling furiously in my notebook so I can remember some new tricks.

-The Stubby Folk

Ok, um…hello? Anybody out there?

I think we set a new record for most passive joint opening moves. We have only one military encounter in the west, one in mirkwood, one in mordor passes and a couple in harad land…but I suspect things will heat up fast over the next turns.

What…the game has started???
Best I do something

Adrian
Friendly neighbourhood witch thing

Cool. I played the WK last game and I’m interested to see what you do and perhaps pick up some new ideas. I recruited\dumped food at Gunderbad which I suspect you did too but your other moves seem different but this turn will likely reveal the extent shortly.

Kudos for raising Goblin Gate up so mightily. Time will tell just how good a move it was but it certainly made my bearded jaw drop.

Oh yeah, those greedy dun mages…stealing all the good fights from my guys…

P.S. We have a message into ME games…they screwed up part of a turn for us so there may be a revsion forthcoming. It’s a pretty major issue so I suspect they will get right on it.

Edited to add that by now the Rhuduar player got the updated information for his turn and knows of which I spoke earlier.

Is that the one that comes with the extra black high lapel knee length flasher’s jacket ?

Cheers
Stuart

I must shamefully admit that I missed this joke the first time it was posted up.
:o

That was hillarious!

I prefer the Arsless Leather Chaps myself… tend to get a killer saddle rash though!

Herman

you guys all seem to have a good knowledge on the subject, plenty of practical experience I wager

Of course, Schultzy is from western australia and apart from being 3 hours behind everyone else, you can never trust those fellas. Karma hopefully catching up on the weagles too and of course, we know what happened to Connelly! (go the mighty kangas too btw nail in the coffin!)

And go the mighty DS in this game. The cowardly tactics of the freep (mainly the duns and short stunties from what I can remember) will do you no good. I’ve seen nations go out before due to challenges at the capital with someone dying before they can sell to keep their nation afloat. But not on turn 2, so I reckon you played that card a little early. Now to see if you keep it up!

Nice job on the market, we all have plenty of gold but prices are lower than I would have thought. But I guess there are alot of troops in the field as our phony war continues!

And what is NG up to I wonder at 3028? Having trouble deciding where to go? And the Eoth, interesting choice with Dolg Guldor, shame you did not get there!

cheers,
Dark loo

Are you telling us that there is a difference between western and eastern Australians ? I suppose there may be. I have relatives from about the middle and they are definately unique.

Tactics. Well they say cowardice is the better part of Valar ! But isn’t ‘short stunty’ an oxymoron ?

We’ve been telling NGo where to go for weeks !

And we’ve heard about the unsanitary habits of Australians. We plan to leave the Dark Loo well alone !

Cheers
Stuart

We were happy with the Rhudaur challenges, point being to cripple their early defensive efforts and not bankrupting them. They will be hard pressed to in the northwest now.

Yes, the markets have sagged quickly which is good…but not anything you guys won’t be able to deal with.

Honestly, I don’t expect to be able to bankrupt anyone on your team later on in the game with challenges…lol…like you won’t be doing natsells with army commanders or remotely etc. That is likely playing in the world cup and hoping the team you play forgets their goal keeper.
