1650 Grudge - Game 64

I hope your capt gets things sorted out for the best…I can completely sympathize.

As for overconfident, sorry…but our team actually does it’s best work after the first 10 turns or so. I honestly don’t believe we’ve really hit you with our best stuff yet.

I will reiterate that I think the lack of camp placement (misties in particular) on your teams part…and what that means about some of your emmissary development is going to mean bad bad things for the DS down the stretch here. If we don’t let you guys have any standing pops in the misties…which is not unattainable…that’s going to make things awfully rough for you.

Turn 7 has run, I have seen most but not all of our turns…seems like more of the same pretty much everywhere.

LOTS of agent failures that turn.

No dragons for the Dragon Lord…ouch, a little surprised at that…I must say I was also surprised to see how much gold we harvested from the DL despite suiciding at his pops.

3 camps in the misties on my map and it’s finally FALL so great to see the production finally start to taper off a bit. Lots of dragons going to the northwest…along with agents…but you are still losing 2 towns up there this turn. I think turn 10 will see Morannon as the northwest outpost of the DS. (If it’s still there. )

South is still a problem…but not a huge deal considering the bigger scheme of things.

Markets are weak…but not weak enough yet but hopefully Fall will help.

Nice work by the DK lts. threat army. Hats off to you.

Ouch, I saw the rest of the turns and in general that was another really bad turn for the DS and this next one is going to be bad too.

At least our drop bridge commands are still failing on a hillarious basis to entertain you.

Will Din O kill a FP before he kills himself?

Not to be cheeky but I really don’t think you guys can pull this game out anymore.

yeah yeah

things could be better, actually a lot better.

But the way I see it, something has to go right shortly!

Anyway, I have now finished my house move, my 2 gunboats games both finished so I can get stuck into this one for a short while. However, then it’s off to my wedding…

We haven’t brought our best game to this one at all, we’ve had a few MIA, no special services mind you but lots of late orders and plenty of mistakes. We tend to do this most games actually but you guys are making us pay, a few of the team is a little downcast but we reap what we sow. We tried some silly things in the NW and threw the baby out with the bath water but the NW is only one theatre, there are plenty of others…

I hope the move went well, CONGRATS on the impending marriage.

Yeah, I see your points. However, my comments really aren’t based upon the NW so much although we do get lots of guys freed up to cause trouble and you know the gates are finally going to be pressed hard now. Up until now we just went for a mordor containment strategy.

With the few misty pops and slow agent development, holding those gates is going to be tough and frankly, we have worked hard to develop our other assets so I honestly do not believe we are facing a big character deficit like what occurs when the FP try to win the game in 10 turns by pure military assault. (This is how our last ME game went with us playing the DS)

I’m always looking to pick up a few tricks and you guys have shown some this game so hats off again. I hope you guys get things squared away with real life issues so we can reverse sides and go again…I am nervous to play the DS starting in winter instead of spring\summer though.

Would you believe 2 turns maybe??? Attempted a late order change and stuffed it up in the rush. Still not happy that a bearded goat herder with a couple of dozen goats can threaten a fortified mountain pop but my Nazgul with countless hoards of battle crazed warriors can’t turn an undefended town. The injustice of it all. :frowning: Will have to get rid of Uvatha’s Pink jump suit… it just detracts from his presence!!!)

Those weren’t goats, they were Dwarven Women in goat horned helmets.
(Seriously though, the dwarves have yet to threaten anything this game…we just suicide attack and get our armies disbanded by agents. :frowning: )

Gixxer taught me a good threat lesson when I played against him in our last game…I always try to take notice when someone gets me with a good one.

So far, the Duns have been our threat machine this game.

cheers mate. I’m still trying to sort out my broadband at home, not connected yet but everything else went okayish. Heading off to Hawaii for most of November for the wedding with the missus but I’m mainly going for the diving, I plan to do heaps

yeah we figured as much

yeah it’s pretty sad that you guys are doing more with the characters than us! Finally saw the drag lord turn today and 2715 fortys sabotaged ouch. I have to say though, once again you guys get a good roll and we got crud ones! I certainly hope this turn will turn out a little better with the agents, our CL is getting a little upset. I dunno, doesn’t seem to matter how much we load these guys up with trinkets, they still fall flat on their faces!

clam your nerves, hopefully this one still has a few legs in it. I know, I know, we’ve got a few problems, I honestly agree with everything you have said above. But we always start lethargicly and in first gear. Seriously, it usually takes a couple of dead nations to wake us up as a team!

Now I hope that wasn’t the kiss of death on one of us! Though it might liven the game up a bit…

The game is usually won by the free in the first 20 turns, the dark servants after turn 20. Now if we can only press our advantage, but I do like the characters we have.

Is Mick Jancock on your team? He seems to be mighty quite in the gunboat games.

tim

Pmfji, but, um, aren’t you supposed to be quiet in GB games…?

Not post gunboat games, I would still like to here from him for the last game.

But it is his right to say nothing. Kind of like Tony, still waiting for his write up as well. Guess that will not be coming either. I would ask for Clint to kick Tony out, but then we wouldn’t get the game going <G>.

Rumour has it Tony recruited a guru to help him in gunboat.

later,

tim

We put the whammy on the CL.
I was hoping for more effect from my suicide attack on the DL but I’m happy with the general result.

Have a blast in Hawaii, I’ve never been…sounds wonderful! I would love to visit Australia and NZ some day but that’s a long time off.

Tim, see post 20 on the game 63 board, I posted on behalf of MJ who was the IK/LR in thatb game.

I saw the post but missed the name. I would say he played the best on the dark servant team.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Now if we could only get that woodmen/arthedain guy to post.

Hawaii is pretty cool but plenty expensive. Better beaches back in Aussie but we are missing the whole Volcano poking out the deep ocean thingy. :frowning:
If you are in Waikiki check out Moose McGillycuddlies on Tuesdays (Trailer Trash Tuesdays, $2 Mai Thai’s and Long Island Iced tea’s) and Legends Sports bar, they will show cricket and footy on request. Mind you my info is pretty old (2002 I was there doing Work for the Aussie Navy!)

Regards Herman

I am a big snake buff, if I go to australia I want to see their zoos…along with the classics like the Great barrier reef. (Don’t really care to see the Opera house or the big red rock though)

If any of you ever get a burning desire to see the dead center of the United States  …you can meet four members of our team and I’ll treat you to some BBQ.

Kansas ranked 50 out of 50 states in tourism (dead last) but has made huge strides in recent years and is probably now up to 48 or so.

The KC area does have what is supposed to be the finest WW1 museum in the world though.

Yeah we score plenty on the Deadly snake top 10. I think we have about 6-7 of them. Tipan, Tiger snake, Death Adder (Such a cool name!) Red Belly Black Snake, King brown (Mean bastiches, they will chase you!) and a couple of others that I can’t remember. As far as having things that will ruin your weekend we do seem to have a fair bloody whack of them. Come see Australia… and Die!, doesn’t seem to be the catchiest tourist motto! :stuck_out_tongue:

Regards Herman

We had Bearded Dragons as pets for a while but they’ve all passed away now. :frowning:

Death Adders are nice, but they aren’t really “adders”…they just physically resemble adders so the name stuck. Huge fangs for a little snake.

Seriously though, I’d rather be bitten by one of the australian deadly snakes as you can get anti-venom and not be too badly messed up. Some of the snakes in the America’s (especially south america) do massive tissue damage so even with the anti-venom you can be seriously screwed up. (or die anyway)

Look up the “bushmaster” sometime or search for “Ripa Bushmaster” and you’ll get to read some good stories too.

Only problem with getting bitten in Australia is the habitat of the really deadly beggars like the Tipan is that you will be hundreds of kilometers from the nearest semblance of civilization. Some people would argue that being anywhere in Australia is still being hundreds of kilometers from any semblance of civilization… :stuck_out_tongue:

Well if you do survive 2 turn I would like to know the trick. But anyone running around in a Pink jump suit is in for it.
And I would really like to see how you can win with 6 Warships against my 12. I could tell you how we did it in the last game, but that is a secret until after the game.

Cheers,

Martin NM
