1650 Grudge - Game 64

Well, the WK is probably a lot lighter after puking once he looked at his turn results.

But no need to worry. No doubt a new home can be found for him on the Costa del Mordor. Going to get a bit tight in there though. And who is giving up their back-ups ?

Well that’s fine too of course. Whatever profit you made from the steel buyout can be ploughed into upgrading with the Pectoral. We just love low to mid level loyalty major towns.

Cheers
Stuart

Yeah yeah yeah, NW going your way. A bit earlier than normal though. A few things tried by Rhu and …well failed miserably is probably the only description that we can use. Mirkwood is looking good for us at this stage. No GG lost no DolG down, ties up Woodies and Eoth at home. Corsairs looking in trouble early, A couple of towns down and more DS on the way… hmm he might have to move to some of the vacated Rhu pops in the comming turns??? Both gates solid for the time going. Better get some more damage in before the Wyrms and agents come online in a big way.

Regards Herman

<Sorry I had to prod you to actually get someone on the DS to post something about the game. I definitely posted on the positives for your team first.>

I don’t really disagree with anything you wrote. We’ll see how all of that shapes up.

Were you referring to our agents or yours.

Seriously though…the misties are looking pretty vacant for turn 5. Other then your neato grab the early dragon trick…you might have some trouble finding them without many camps up there.

it would be nice to have something go our way. That was a nasty turn, a couple of things went your way which I reckon were pretty arsey. You can crow for now, you are the freep afterall!

Anyway, I’m going to shutup for now, seems I have the kiss of the death whenever I mention something about your strategy! I questioned your challenging and threats and both have worked well for you! So I won’t aid you anymore!

Quick dark loo perspective: I’m are still sitting on Minas Anor unopposed, you’d think I would get a lucky roll. I see you finally tore down the bridge. Elsewhere, the row 16 seesaw continues, you guys are really being right rude bastards, lying in wait and jumping straight in and recapturing.

Northern Gondor messed up his turns nicely. So far only minor consequences to my mistakes.

Lets see, three turns running with a dark servant army on Minas Anor and no free people army. And it is only turn five. That has to be a record or something.

Sorry, not meaning to crow…definitely commented on your positives first.
I think the row 16 seesaw has come to an end though.
Yeah, the freep are supposed to take out the northwest…I’m mainly just happy with the speed…which allows us to shift stuff elsewhere earlier. (no surprise there).

I think both sides have plenty of twists and turns yet to come into view.

It will be interesting to see if the Duns wind up with BOTH of Rhudaurs MT’s intact by threat.

Well maybe a little trumpet blowing (since if you don’t blow your own trumpet you end up with cold sores).

But seriously we’ve been a bit surprised at the pace of our progress in the north west. The DS have certainly been more effective in the south where our initial threats weren’t so successful. If the Corsairs do end up needing real estate in the north at least there is a surfeit of second hand property to offer him - only one previous owner. Of course the damn bridge staying up so long was lousy luck for us. But c’est la guerre.

Mirkwood looks contained at present with neither side having a clear advantage. I guess the jury is still out on whether the big investment at GG will be worthwhile. If Rhudaur had been able to hold out more or get Seammu’s army east earlier it could have been really effective but as time goes by it looks to us more like its been a costly white elephant ? Certainly a strategy that aroused debate at our end though.

But Darrel is right. There’s a lot of water to go under (over !) the bridge yet and no doubt some humble pie to be eaten by me along the way.

Well, things went pretty well that turn…I’m especially happy with the markets.

3 Killers in the northwest? You meanies! Thankfully they didn’t do much damage…I don’t see them saving the WK either…who’d better count his beans carefully lest he end up bankrupt.

Glad to see 2 camps melted in the misties and only one got placed. I’m not sure you will get many more placed and 3 camps in the misties on turn 6…that’s going to hurt if it hasn’t already.

Still stalking the poor woodmen? You’ve not only beaten that dead horse…you’ve drug it behind your truck for 12 miles on a gravel road.

The south is still a mess, mordor is largely unscathed so those are pluses for you…but we’re starting to swing that way.

Your little threat army winding it’s way across the middle of the map is having some success…that’s a nice move.

I also like the rhu camp raid near the dwarf capital…nice.

I was happy to see that Rhuduar didn’t yet have a dragon last turn.

I was surprised to find the evacated capital tactic practiced at Dol Goldur…that hasn’t worked well for you guys at the other capitals…are you sure DG is going to make it through the turn? I love timber.

Hello,

where are the DS? That is 5 FP post to 1 DS. Okay the north is a DS desaster, but you can tell the world how you beat up the poor corsaire.
Nice of Uvatha to come and play, is this some “last offence before you die” thing?
Being personally involved (being the NM) I am interrested in the next two turns, that should show how the Rhun area develops.

For the peanut gallery, the LR starting Cav army is gone, the BS starting army will meet its doom this turn and the LR fleet, I give it three turns max.

Cheers,

Martin NM

Still far too early. 3 turns for my navy hey… Nahh 5 at least. :stuck_out_tongue:

What are you ging to hide again in your hidden pop center, knowing I cannot follow?

Otherwise I will hunt you and bring you down, if the Sinda are not faster:p

Catch me if you can! :stuck_out_tongue:

Should not be difficult, how many airline pilots are running around in the ME universe;)

I’d like to thank everyone for keeping this thread friendly with some good natured ribbing thrown in.

I would like to hear more from the DS…I am taking thier general silence as indicative that the game is not going so well for the DS…note that I’m not saying they can’t win but from the looks of things I’m happy with where we are at this stage.

Our team has been suffering badly from real world issues. Two of our members have been relocating houses. One of them changing countries in the process. That and our team captain has had some massive distractions on the family front plus the fact he has been blind as a bat for the past weeks so we have been unable to get our plans together as thoroughly as we would normaly like. Probably the worst start for us I have ever seen. Still quite salvageable though. It is part of our plan. Make you overconfident … therefore easier to kill. :stuck_out_tongue:

Regards Herman

Yeah, sometimes the real world intrudes into the game and diverts attention to those more important issues of familly, finance, etc. Hope they will all get resolved satisfactorily and you can get your ‘A’ Game on the table. Though sometimes it can be difficult to regain focus on a game when it has started going badly - it kind of slips away from you.

The last game started a bit like that for us. The FP made swift military gains and pegged us right back in Mordor though, despite much bellicose posting, they never got anywhere in Angmar. For a few turns it was quite tight and we just had to regroup and hold on while repositioning for the longer game. In time it became apparent that they had neglected character development so, despite their attempts to seize the initiative through the Forum, the game pretty much fell apart for them, rather brutally in the West, from turn 10 or so.

All the best
Stuart

And she’s a female… Hi Keith and Herman :). I promise I won’t try your German again, Herman. Could use it as a secret weapon, though…ponder…Regards to the CL. Please tell him I had serious fun killing Ji.

Cheers, Tine
