Well in case you hadn’t spotted it in your turn I have decided to turn Free.
Why ?
I keep asking myself that especially when I joined with the full intention of declaring dark and using dragons (and the odd Mordorian agent) to make an interesting battle in the NW.
Looking back over the first few turns it comes down to -
Excellent communication from the FP (which continues now, always nice to know it continues after you declare)
Incredibly poor communication on the first turn by the DS
This would not have mattered overly had the level of openness been there. The FP even shared the odd turn with me before I had declared, the DS wouldn’t even tell me the name of an agent working in the NW ? Not top secret I would have imagined. Treat your neutrals as enemies and they will become such…
Worse than that, last turn I was accused of being a “ringer” by one of the only two DS who had maintained “regular” contact with me… leaving me in the sound knowledge that the only DS with whom I had a good level of trust was the WK…hmmmm with the WK looking like he is setting up residence in cardboard city this did not make me feel overly confident…
All in all I hope for a swift defeat of the DS so that when I play a neutral again I can choose a side rather than be pushed and pulled to the one decision.
I wish my enemies all the luck they can garnor and I hope for an interesting game.
Sarcasm and paranoia - they do say that the best brains are prone to both.
Another big word - delusional
I had hoped that my declaration whilst not ideal for your side would at least be viewed with stoicism considering the harsh words flung at me the turn I decided to declare…
If you remember I gave the DS the opportunity to have me on their side. I told you my exact army movements, I told you where I would be and I offered a strategy that if not effective would have certainly kept the NW open. Instead I was viewed with suspicion and distrust (by you). The other DS were much more open but you are the most vocal of your side and so carry that extra weight in any decision. You are a burden to your team and it is truly a disappointment that my armies will not have dragons in them…
I leave you my camps and towns in old Dunland - we hunger after nice mountain views and plan to plant our new vineyards on the slopes of Mordor !
Its such a shame, Incidentally when you started the game I was not vocal against you, and frankly the only person that should need to contact you is the WK, not me – you know the QA a few thousand leagues south.
not the gubbins of other DS saying hello and all that bollocks. But dont blame me for you turning Free. That would be a lie.
As for cosairs
if he expected me to filter news from the DS when he doesnt bother even saying hello. Then he is sadly mistaken. as I said all he had to do was say he was busy. thats all. not hard. So I left them to it.
As for the Duns:-
They were done for
Yes we sent agents but we are not giving names or locations. That would be stupid. Once WK was in direstraits, it was little point dealing with the Duns since they were bound to go free especially with the Rhuduar turning free. They would be anhilated otherwise.
AS for the remaining neutrals.
You know what they say about twice bitten, thrice shy. I have diplomatic with easterlings -
NO RESPONSE.
It was already rumoured that the harad were going free at sometime in the future, just a question of when.
Well if you expect the DS to grovel then in being with the game, that it is not the way of Sauron.
But then I am also now in 2 games of GB 1650. And now i dont have to accept the cock and bull from neutrals do i.
Simon ! Hey how you doing ? You can see things are very interesting here…
QA I think you should stay in GB games as diplomacy skills are sadly lacking…
If you look back on my emails I never once lied - I was completely truthful at all times. I even said in several mails that I was tending towards FP and the odds were in the region of 70/30… so where is all the bitterness coming from ?
I started the game 80/20 in favour of DS (as Simon knows that is the only side I have ever declared for or played for) so this has all happened due to poor diplomacy and your antagonistic nature.
Your GB games have tainted your view- I have played a neutral many a time and one of the key deciding factors is how many players of a side contact you and make you feel as part of the team - yes I said “team” and this is where I think you are failing. GB allows you to play with lower diplomatic skills and less team interaction. In the original game it is all about diplomacy and, for neutrals, joining and interacting fully with the team…
I joined MEPBMs again to have fun - I don’t care if I win or get knocked out early so long as the interaction is there…it is only a game… I would like my team to win and will play to win but I won’t take your tripe to heart any more…
For those reading this outside of game 35 just log into the game 35 forum to read the rubbish he is writing.
Neutrals should be working with those close by, Why should they really care about some one 1000’s leagues away.
If you want to know more
If you dont like my attitude, well you can join the opposite continually in future games if thats your choice. But I for one will not beg or plead for a neutral not in my nature. And in fact if this was role playing not in the nature of Sauron either.
“murmu since u dont get sarcasm I wont bother explaining”
Ah, i see.
It all becomes clear; you are rude as well as ignorant and [if memory serves] a very poor, selfish player. I was actually interested to see if an old ally/team-mate had changed.
Apparently not.
btw; whenever i start a new game i make sure you are not on my team first. Thats the kind of impression you make. And thats not sarcasm.
What more can I say that has not been written already…
Dunland stands (and fights) by its actions…
I have been open to all offers and as transparant as I could be (even shared my first few turns)
You have your opinion…
Oh and I for one don’t do grudges as it is only a game, but I will be following David’s lead and avoiding all future encounters with the dozing, yet opinionated, sleeper
