First post ever (thanks Dean for setting me up!) on this forum. Game 144 is filling up with only 6 spots left. We’ve rustled a few brand new players from Finland who’re eager to get in on the action. They’re busy thinking up silly SNA combos and wondering how to allocate the king and prince points.
Please fill up the remaining slots soon so our new players don’t get frustrated with the wait!
Welcome aborad Esko. Well done on the recruiting. Will you be helping the new players out, mentoring them? Will they need help geting Automagic or JOverseer (recommended) going? Let me know if you need any support!
Our enemies are the ones who’re going to need help and support against them!
But yes, we’ll set them up with Joverseer and make sure that their orders make sense. The recruiting was in no part up to me. Thanks for that go to Harro.
Yeah, the ugly rumor is that 144 is filled. No idea what the hold up is for getting out the info to the players in that game though; heard they’re still tweaking allegiance selections. I might also try for 145, but I’m stretching myself thin with numerous games already.
Another week gone by and no indication when this game is going to start. Never figured a game that’s already FULL, would have these complications. I guess it’s time to break out the PS and play Skyrim again.
After waiting to balance out the allegiances (which seemed to take longer than usual after having a full game), everyone now has to give their region choices.
I was under the impression that most people give region choices when they request allegiances at sign-up?
Oh well, what’s another week of waiting… Another week of waiting, lol.
I have never had to set up a FA game. I have watched Rob organise it from distance a couple of times. There is a lot of diplomacy on his part squeezing players in allegiances and then regions in such a way that ALL are happy, or at the very least satisfied. An e-mail can be sent suggesting a shift around, you wait for replies from 2-3 different parties and it only takes a 2-day delay in some replies and you have lost the best part of a week! Also, informing all the players on these changes, so you know what potentially your opposition is doing, is not really sensible…
So, I know it takes a while for the game to kick off, and it can seem like nothing is happening, but there is always stuff going on behind the scenes! Often, it involves Rob fitting square pegs into round holes! This is part the price for all the fun of those choices at game start!
At first glance there’s a nice split of DS and FP across the map with most nations bordering an enemy and few isolated ones that look in trouble from the start, so I think Rob did a good job! Of course neutrals will shake this all up and make it even more interesting…
I didn’t join with anyone, but are we allowed to discuss the game with our team members at this stage or only after the game starts? To be honest I don’t want a grudge approach, but just to get an idea about close ally plans…
If you don’t know who is in your allegiance yet, how can you discuss anything? Of course you could start a group, etc., but until you have all the email addresses from your team-mates, you run the risk of discussing strategies with potential enemies, heh. Anyone can say they’re so-and-so up until then.
