Game 13

Ed,

I know you meant it as a compliment. And I stand by my American Army
comments after serving in 3 wars with that army. Anyway, not my thread
so I’ll butt out of this thread:p

Ps… Check your historical facts about the Vagarian Guard and the total
lack of Byzantine victories without them holding the centre. Also I would
like to point out the Armenians fought against the B. E. on more than
one occasion… Fantastic HC descended from the first Cataraphts of the
Secculieds 500 hundred years before…
.

Have to say it is interesting reading of my demise. With my email to Tine I was hoping to persuade the Free that I was already out and so they might slip up. I am sorry to the Dark Servants for my bankruptcy but to be honest I am still not sure what I was supposed to do to prevent it - advice gratefully received. My understanding was that in spite of the cash injection my bankruptcy came first - ah well. My big mistakes were early on - moving East too soon and finding all the Northmen there and my inexperience in the west, particularly the turn before my last in recruiting and messing up my handover - still live and learn and all the best to the rest of you for the rest of the game.

Sell Orders could have increased your treasury before bankruptcy. They may not have gone through, but its the effort that counts.

Attack at Mt. Gram, since Defend only defends your own pop-centers. This also would have decreased your maintenance costs.

Thanks - I should have realised about the defend - worked it out as soon as the turn came back. As to the sells I doubt that would have been enough - I can only apologise again

No need to apologise Adrian  We the Free think its great the WK is out, next comes Dragon Poo

WK taxes popped at 102 %. 320’s instead of 325’s would have been enough.

Just sent in my turn. The big questions in my mepbm life is wether IK has 0, 1 or 2 dragons next turn and wether NG moves before IK. Lets see, to have a dragon next turn he must have the encounter this turn…possible, but not likely. Exitement and expectations thats what makes this game fun.

I’d love to let you in on the logistics of this turn. I expect you’ll be pleased in the morning. You’d be exceptionally amused if I were able to communicate to you, c’est la vie. Enjoy your meanderings, it only means a more meaningful death in the future…!

Well the Dragon Lord didn’t live up to his name, no dragons found at Dol G, actually there is no Dol G any more just a pile of smoking ruins

As per my previous message…lots of head shaking going on… :frowning:

The Northmen kingdom of Rhun has been trampled into the dirt by the Easterling horde. Now the armies of Khand have moved into Rhovanion, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Even the valiant Eothraim have lost their nerve, abandoning the great town of Buhr Mahrling to the barbaric invaders.

Clearly, the Free Peoples of the east have been sacrificed to serve the needs (greed?) of the two Gondors.

  • Keith of Khand

Looser Nazghuls and Mighty Lord of the East: You are absolutly right! The gondors have in a selfish manner attacked Mordor while the dwarves, elves and woodmen had their egotrip in Dol Guldur. In the Nortwest Arthedain and Cardolan only thought of themselves while taking over the NW. None of these nations ever sent as much as an army to defend Dilgul or Shrel-Kain. That is a typical example of the lack of team spirit in open games. Its me, my and myself all the time. That is why a team like the DS, which displays obvious team-spirit and exellent cohesion and coordination would have wiped us out, was it not for the superior intellects of the FP team.

… .which the Gods appear to favor in this particular game. My selfish hunger for blood and territory in Rhun-Rhovanion has been well satisfied, but any attempts to help my allies seem to meet with ill luck.

That is why a team like the DS, which displays obvious team-spirit and exellent cohesion and coordination would have wiped us out, was it not for the superior intellects of the FP team.

We’re a team? You have an intellect?

  • Keith of Khand

Just enough of an intellectual superiority to compensate for your exellence in team coordination.

We don’t have any team coordination, so your intellectual edge is looking pretty dull…

  • Keith of Khand

Its sharp enough to:

a) Knock the WK out
b) About to knock Rhu out
c) Leave the DrL with no starting MT’s
d) Enable the Ithil pass to fall into our hands
e) Get on the IK’s & DkL’s capital this turn, oh and the FK’s backup

And all we have had to do is relocate 1 nation.

Oh, so we’re kicking you a$$ in something then~!

Upon further reflection, it’s looking like I’ve been drinking too much Fosters, singing too many instrumentals, and balancing on too many chairs. My lawyer is calling, gotta go…

You’ll never defeat the Fire King.

Propably not.
You only need to supply 4 back ups to those Nazghuls relocated, an easy task considering the abundance of neutrals who join you. Somehow its ok, it keeps the game alive and fairly balanced resource/military wise. From a FP perspective the character war will be problematic with fewer nations against many. You have a 30% advantadge on characters and a huge SNA advantadge. In the long run that should give you victory if you can keep us at bay military wise, assuming you use your orders to hurt us.
