Agreed, good and fun game. I did truly enjoy bantering with most of you. Pity I didnt get the action as the Cards I was hoping for, specially with about 3200 HC with warmachines heading into Mirkwood, oh well next game…
Sorry you never gave me the attention I soo richly needed Dave ;)
Ditto from me. Steve is an outstanding MEPBM player and has contributed significantly to the winning DS strategy in PoWeR 16. I’d play with him on my team any game, any time, and would seek him out as a team mate (unless he wanted me to play 2950… LOL)
All that said, I applaud the recent trend in this list to get away from intensely personal name-calling and slandor. I don’t think it makes any person or team look good.
Dave Dave Dave, I never claimed to be the Corsairs…I do hope poor Lars wasnt the subject of your attention because you thought it was me I was up in the NW…waitin for ya
Ironlord, we are choosing to concede not give up, there is a difference, more players believed greener pastures would be available in new games rather than really attempt something not going so well, others wanted to keep fighting it would have been selfish to force them to keep going…
At this point, as far as I know, Eothraim, Northmen, Noldo and Southern Gondor have sent in their drop/concessions. We had a team vote and mostly agreed that would be it. I believe Arthedain, Cardolan, North Gondor, the Duns, and the Woodmen will follow suit. Sinda is out of the country (should be back in time?) while Dwarf and Corsairs haven’t checked in.
You can tell which 2 players wanted to battle it out to the end… Lol. Anyway,
Kudos to the DS for a great game and for the earliest use of a curse team
I’ve ever seen! Well done and hats off to you quickly followed by a moonie!
lol. then indeed you were completely untouched by the CL.
and all along I thought you had said you were Corsairs…
just so you know, CL strategy was purely focused on what was right for the DS. So Lars didn’t get anything that any other CO player wouldn’t have received. We just needed to sew up the south. EO was the truly unenviable FP position in this game given the DS gameplan…
Most grudge teams decide to pick on the EO but we were’nt able to
hurt you other areas to take the heat off the EO… Hmmm, considering
signing up for the next power game… Wouldnt it be funny if I ended
up on the same team as John and Steve-Celebion? Lol
Another POWER game ? They should call it Process-when-not-quite-ready game
Good game all, impressed that the FP had the muscle to come back at us with some moves after what I think is the most blinding first 8 turns a DS ever had… (and not because I think we were lucky either)…
Yes, it was a good early show. We were all touchy feely, taking too much time not offending each other. No matter how much blame others try to lay at my feet, even if a talented player attempted to rally the FP at that point it would have been hopeless.
No one is laying ANY blame at your hoofs Brad, I agree with all the touchy
feely bit. In the end of the day us FP’s as a team didnt recognise the
danger of the North Mirkwood offensive, that combined with exellent DS
play made life hel for us and a it was an uphill struggle from there.
Hell I go away for Easter and it all finishes. A thorough shalacking by the DS on us poor freeps. Well played. The market manipulation was the best I have ever seen and my Team Aussie compardres are pretty good at it. The Early curse squad was a bonus on your part but you were just far too co-ordinated on the first few turns. We were not a team till about T#5-6 and it was going to be an uphill battle by then. Well played DS.
So it is indeed officially over according to ME Games.
Thank you FP for the very fun game!
And to the DS, well done! what a great team. It was the diversity of opinion & willingness to express it that propelled this team to victory. Not to mention that we had some great players with great ideas!
…and TONS of emails…
CL stats at end of turn 16:
20 assassinations
18 hostages
and some of those were timely & important I think…
WK was taking Arths capital next turn…Cradys the turn after. To bad we did not go one week more ;-). A little pay back in the West would have been nice.
Best of luck in games to come all. Thanks for a fun game.
