The Dunlendings are no longer a force in the West, their evil ways put to the Sword of Freedom:
Lord Enion shall be held until the end, to ponder his crimes of leading his people into shadow. To what ends we ask him? Did Arfanhil or Murazor come to your aid? No…But worst of all, the cowardly Servants of Mordor fearing assault on their own lands, take down the bridges without even a fight, sealing your doom at the hands of noble Gondor. Your home nothing but a cruel sacrifice to Sauron, his laughter must haunt your dreams. A sad fate for such proud peoples….we would have treated you better but alas all is lost.
And how shall the Capital of Angmar fair? Dose the Witch-King have a Dragon to save his home or shall it to burn by weeks end?
Soon the all the West shall be free a land, evils days in our home are numbered. We will rejoice to see it fade into the East and then pursue in earnest…into the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lay.
Oh ye of little faith. It is now turn 10, oops, I mean TURN 8, and the FP are standing on every DS popcen in and around Mirkwood.
BIG SMIRK
Now we have time for NM, SE and DW to march troops over to protect the EOplex. Oh wait, there appears to be a noticeable lack of enemies at my gates.
Come on DENDRA, I know you are out there somehwere. As for the other knives, I see they are busy elsewhere, again. I have helped out as much as I can. My armies were sitting first at D.G. and now at Shrel Kain, Apparently these hexes are some of the least likely spots on the map for FP AComm targets, seeing as I have had to bury exactly one of my generals.
I promised you dull play out of my nation, and I have kept my end of the bargain. In return you have left me alone. I like these deals.
Can I now interest you in a deed to 2821? Do the DS want to ask for a collective Turn 0 “do over”?
With apologies to all, i must tell you that HA won’t get orders in until this weekend. My lame excuse is the press of holidays, family items, and an unfortunate encounter between my thumb and my table saw. The table saw won the battle (but not the war!)
After T10 submissions, HA will once again be back on track for rapid turn submissions.
Ossim Ralah reviewed his orders. He was to destroy the Easterling army, capture the town of An Karagmir, and force march east to take the fight to the enemy.
As he sat on his steed at the head of his army, he was surprised to see a lone figure ride out in front of the Easterling’s army. Yes, it was Urdrath, the mage. He rode under the flag of challenge.
Ossim could not refuse such an offer. If he could defeat this dark mage, he would spare the lives of many of his soldiers. He quickly penned a note to his beloved, handed it to his valet, and rode out to meet Urdrath.
The fight would prove very long, but ultimately the hand of fate would fall to Urdrath’s advantage. Ossim fell before a magic bolt after 12 long minutes of individual combat.
Upon seeing their commander fall, the Harad Horde gave forth a frightning yell and charged directly into the enemy, destroying them to a man. “Avenge Ossim Rallah!” was the rallying cry. In the end, An Karagmir had fallen and the Easterlings cavalry were destroyed.
And so let it be said, that though the spies and dark mages of Mordor may slay our leaders, the might of the Harad will not be denied. Soon Ovatha II would learn the same lesson as Adunaphel. The Mumakil ride!
The Northman scout turned hastily from Rogrog and scampering down the mountain side, the orc commander bit down on his fat lip in dread. Ill news for Lord Murazor would bring him pain this day, he was sure. Limping through the ruins of Carn Dum, Rogrog noted that his old capital still smoldered in places, just as his wounds from the battle still bled. Arthedains assault had come so swiftly, he still did not understand; now he was forced to tell his lord that Rhudaur had failed to avenge them, their army fled before Fornost Erains mighty walls. No battle given, months of war and not even a single dwelling of the Dunedain destroyed, yet Angmar was crumbing….Fear filled him as he had reached his lords camp, a rock blasted fort in the old towns center. Ducking inside, Rogrog felt something was not right; the cold chill of his lord’s presents was missing. His eyes fixed on the throne, black dented armor lay crumpled in a heap at its base, a single lithe blade pinned the Nazgul’s helm to wooden black of the iron framed chair. Assassinated, how could this be? His right hand reached for the haft of his mace, he grasped nothing, for it to was gone….
Beautifully put Elf, I truly have tears in my eyes. I would have loved to written so elequent a story for the deaths of Tarondor and Haruth, two of your allies most beloved leaders…but mainly they whimpered like children and cried for their mommies. Nothing noteworthy there.
Carlon listened to the reports: two new command recruits with slit throats. He must make a note to order the guard to increase capital security.
But the war effort was going very well indeed. Reports from the field indicated that Adunaphel’s newest nest had been uncovered by the Haradrim cavalry. There were assurances that it too would be burned to the ground and Adunaphel once again sent into further exile. The mumakil were chomping at the bit.
As to Evvard and Stanislaw, well, he had best hurry on to attend their memorial services.
LOL. You might well kill or kidnap Carlon. Such is the risk that we who fight for freedom are prepared to take.
And I must say, you are welcome to stay in our capital for the rest of the game. We’ll keep naming newbie characters and you can keep killing them. In the meantime, we’ll keep taking DS pop centers. I think it’s a great plan. In fact, I’m willing to bet that my team mates agree with your plan. Um… have you asked your team mates if they agree??? enquiring minds want to know. LOL
Well, at least you’ll bump up the CL ritual challenge & Assassination tally. Well done. With luck you’ll end up on top of that comparison at game end.
Thanks for your concern Harad…but my allies are just fine with where I place my knives…besides name all the chars you want…I have plenty of other agents for the other areas…ask your NM ally about that…
I hate to have to admit it, but I will do so to avoid any broken hearts or confusion later on today. I am the one that delayed the turn until Monday. I have a great excuse, though…I just got back from Iraq two days ago. I barely got my internet hooked up yesterday and didn’t get the chance to go through my email until today.
Sorry about that. But, on the plus side, I am back from iraq…grin
