But even given that defeat, the FP are clearly winning this game. The Easterlings offensive has stalled around Esgaroth and Dale. The Noldor will be taking back or destroying Dilgul, which would give us absolute control over the Rhun area (for now).
Look at your Palantir map-- after this turn we’ll have half of Mordor.
I knew we’d have a disadvantage with Spirit Mastery, given Galadriel’s untimely death and the loss of Tinculin.
But you guys are going to need more than three or even four Curses squads to turn the tide. We have military and emissarial superiority. And our agents can trade body blows with you any day.
I don’t agree with your assessment of Gorlim’s sacrifice at Morthondost. He is easily assassinated this turn anyway, so what good would it do to win one battle there? This way your city is under siege, preventing you from maximizing your defenses, and now you are without an army there. The added benefit is that we’ll fill our coffers when you try to Hire Army this turn.
Damn, look at all the gear Duinhir was carrying…was he an elven pimp? I mean gloves, rings, hats a mace…geez, should have had a better guard on him. I’ll gladly trade that scrub Olinka for him!!
Of course, I see you have finally come to my home. Oh, woe is me…but of course, I wonder just how good your scouts are…and I wonder if Saruman and crew havent stumbled into a trap. Would be a shame to lose such high powered characters in your pathetic bid to flip my pop centers!
I cant wait to see what happens! Could Shoglic’s days be numbered…find out in the next installment of…as Middleearth Turns!
Or the Corsairs?
Or the Northmen?
Or the Silvans?
Or North Gondor?
Or two other nations “to be named later”.
We are turning up the heat. We can easily hand-off MTs if necessary. You havent held anything you`ve taken for more than 2 turns!
Also, remember, we have up to 42 characters more than you…and our emmies aren`t so toothless as you think…whilst you flit around [even at capitals] it gives another nation time to rebuild…and cash aint exactly in short demand
So who`s the next Noldo casualty, er, i mean leader?
We’re doing the same thing as you, transferring MTowns to nations in need and keeping them active. Or, they simply use a few of their high-ranking emissaries to improve towns into the MTown or City level; as you say, there’s plenty of gold to go around. So its foolish of you to think you can eliminate another of our nations in this way.
Think this one is going to be over soon? The DS have almost no military, now that the Khand, Rhun, BS offensive has stalled.
We have several thousand MORE heavy cavalry on the map than you do, so that disparity will be evident in the next few turns, especially after I deflower Lotus on the field of battle. Your military has taken to MTowns of little consequence, while we have sacked capitals! Morannon, 3218, Minas Morgul, among others. The Rhun, for all his panting about being alive (see Monty Python’s The Holy Grail-- I’m not dead yet! I’m getting better."), will lose Dilgul this turn. Where will the DS recruit from now? 4133? Not likely.
And your claim is false-- we’ve had Minas Tirith, Ostigurth, and 3630, and several other pop. centers for more than two turns. Notice, when you take back 3430, Barad Perras, etc, they are reduced from their former size. So it’s not exactly an even exchange.
We’re taking back Pelargir this turn. Time for the Witch-king to pack his bags. And the same goes for Mt. Gram. Will the Dragon Lord capital have to move again? I think so.
By the way, you’ve had to transfer pop. centers to keep nations alive a LOT more than we have-- too bad your emissaries can’t be doing more useful things with their time. It all adds up-- that’s why the FP own half of Mordor.
Feels like it. Since you hit so near to the mark, Cody, I’ll let you in on a bit of my personal life. . . I’ve had a migraine for 13 days. If you think it may have affected my play in a poor manner then . . .you’re absolutely right.
Really? I think you may be in for a nasty surprise. Perhaps that Middle Earth crack you’ve been smoking has finally taken control, or your intelligence rivals that of the CIA.
I’d bet a pint of my finest “Pelargir Pale Ale” that I will be in control of Pelargir next turn, and the turn after that, and the turn after that…
Thanks for the info Murazor. Guess that means you have a dragon in one of those armies. DS armies really need those considering they’ve been overpowered by their FP masters for the past year.
Keeping Pelargir means you’ll lose out elsewhere. So be it.
It wouldn’t be the first time the DS were wrong about holding on to a major pop. center. We took 3834 after similar promises, which I believe was your capital at the time. As was 3430, which we also took without much of a fight. Despite your vows, you can’t seem to hold your capital.
And Ben, believe me, you don’t even want to see my holy hand grenade.
So, we think we have a good gameplan for the next few turns, do you think you can avoid our better agents and cursers or go toe-to-toe with them?
Do you think you can stop our advance into Gondor or thwart our “inferior” emmisaries?
Do you REALLY think you can roll into Mordor and take what you want, and if you do, do you think that will do any good in trying to defeat us?
Closer than i would have imagined…but gonna get much worse for the FP verrrry soon. I promise
Anyway, the FP have a potential 210 characters and 420 orders. The DS have a potential 252 characters at this stage in the game with 504 orders. Thats assuming full capacity of course, which seems unlikely, but its quite a big difference, dont you think? I know Nick likes to bang on about the superior FP armies AND emmies [how likely is that, given the stats?], but whats the use of getting to a log-jam only to have your characters heads lobbed off? As we know, armies dont win games, characters do…roll on the next turn!
Nice try folks, but Shoglic is still alive and so apparently is the Cloud Lord. Sauron laughs at your feeble attempt to take my capital, it will be in vain…
Not even enough skill to get off the requisite amount of curses either…so much for the FP character superiority!!!
Shoglic…
still kickin and and still with the finest flaming skull this side of the Sea of Nurn
Where be the taunts Sir Cody? My lateness has an excuse . . .the whole whirlwind of migraine/medication/alien probes . . . . you have no excuse but SHAME!!!
