We didn’t get anything, and we don’t guess. Sorry, no gold for the heart, Dragon Lord needs it all.

The Dark
Turn 3 in another game goes down. A bit of this, and a bit of that. For the voyeurs:
The FP destroyed GG and Captured Dol Guldor with the Eothraim. Woodies are squatting on Gundabad and there’s a pile, a really really really BIG pile on Fennas Drunin (1910). Of course, this means the North Gate is uber-secure and the Ithil Pass is somewhat also. Big fight at Osgiliath with a disappearing Argirion leaves NG there alone while SG is out posting camps - hope you got team agreement for that recruiting character to wander about glorifying themselves…!
Corsairs, Sinda and SG attack Harad, capturing 2 towns and 1 MT, a threat against another failed. Not much follow up there, 1 more town to go. Looks like the Harad will last in economic force longer than the FP would prefer…hehehe…
DS caught “sneaking” into Umbar on the southern road. Not very sneaky, as it’s a standard play, but there you go. FP icon coming in the back door of Mordor…not sure why or where he thinks he’ll go, but there it is.
Oh, and Rhudaur and the Witch King landed on backwoods Arthedain pops. I see his village got the unlucky Loyalty swing with his 60%, he’s about to see some more loyalty swings as a couple dozen or fewer survivors stream across the plains from the hoardes of invaders. Not enough to knock him out I’d hazard, but damnably annoying. Well, what else can the NW DS do but try to get under their inevitable conquerors skin? Fragile dude, I guess you didn’t guess everything, huh?
To sum up - the dies have been cast. FP gain Mirkwood not as a result of stellar play necessarily, but as a result of DS abandonment. The NorthWest is the NorthWest…whilst the South is not a FP success at all. Oh, and so sorry about Tinculin. Shame, such powerful Elves. Enjoy camping out, the war is waiting when you get back…
The Dark
Veo,
Dark what? Do hope you’re not Rhuduar as you won’t be around much longer
for me to enjoy the banter… Shame :fork:
Better late then never Dwarves
Oh Lord the Happymnadcat speaks! And he is a dwarf none the less?!!
Good luck on Friday…I predict dark things for the FP’s…
Cheers,
JL
Brad, keep it up with the play-by-play. Us voyeurs out here wanna watch…
Guy. I am Rhudaur - who else would play it…?? Have you noticed where Arfanhil is…?? Holt, 0907 for the record. I’m Harad and Rhudaur in 56, and considering what we’re doing to those 2 nations in 57,well, I’m kicking ass… Come on guybernout and friends, let’s get re-LOCATED…or aren’t you up for it…??
The Dark
I’m always up for it Veo, you should know that by now… Game 57? Not playing
in that game so why should I care? As usual you’re mistaking me for someone
who gives a ‘fig’…
Is “Dark” just a dimmer version of dim?
Just wondering.
Guy, is that “gives a frag” instead…?
Frag, Dark is a Darker version of Dark. Dimmer dim isn’t dark, it’s dim unto infinity, you know, the place where parallel lines appear to meet and Phreepie intelligence approaches it’s upper limit. But no fear, this one won’t last that long.
The Dark
I think your estimation of our intelligence is probably the closest to being accurate you’ve managed on this thread.
Was it you playing with Vandal in a forum flame war last year or so…? Rings a bell. Well, I can assure you, I am not he. I am taller, younger, much better looking, 10x as popular with the ladies and a hell of a lot smarter and wittier. You can try all you want, my little fragile foe, but my estimation of the Phreepie intelligence as approaching it’s lower limit at the beginning of it’s journey towards infinity (as you’ve just politely confirmed) is equally as accurate as my global situational assessments of the game.
You have already lost, you just don’t know it yet. Hurl mud at your leisure, we’re amused as are the voyeurs, I’m sure.
The Dark
Comparing yourself to Vandal . . . “10x as popular with the ladies and a hell of a lot smarter and wittier” . . .
That’s not really the greatest of claims is it to be fair? And I think that you need to re-read your original “infinity” post and then get someone to help you with what it means and what apostrophes should be used for.
As for losing . . . well it’s pretty much the norm for me at this game so I wouldn’t crow about it too much. Losing to a team that I’m in really is about as low as you can get in Middle Earth quite frankly.
Guy likes a challenge
True, I should have said 1000x…
Actually, with my incorrect apostrophe, the whole sentence is utterly meaningless. Sorry, presume my spelling error to preserve grammatical correctness and poof. We are at a place where parallel lines do not meet, very far from infinity, thus we’re barely ascending from your lower limit.
Really, nit-picking grammar/spelling (incorrectly, I might repeat) doesn’t deflect from the absolute truth of my argument, it adds to it. And you lose those games too.
Sigh.
The Dark
Now see here! There’s nowt wrong with my nitpicking, in my line of work it’s second nature I only mentioned it because you made the same error three times in two posts so it’s clearly not just a typo . . . it’s all about helping people to improve you know.
And given that according to you the limit of our intelligence is somewhere beyond infinity who better for you to learn from?
Anyway, as for the game I think it’s going to be an interesting turn. Judging by your report neither team has done anything great yet - we’ve taken some pops easier than expected but there’s a long way to go. You’ve abandoned areas that I’ve often seen held for turn after turn with a little imagination so I’m genuinely intrigued to see what else you have up your sleeve to make the sacrifice worthwhile.
I’m always open to a little learning.
Hey Freagilesi,
Which PC have you taken easyer then expected? Goblins Gate and Dragon capital?
Aye we did not play a very strong Mirkwood opening game of which I’m happy. We thought you guys might throw the EO into Mirkwood and I dont think any DS team can do much vs. that with out just silly good luck. We are not to upset at killing EO cav. on the Walls of a MT/Keep then again the DrL has taken it on the chin quickly never fun for him, but its all in the game. We are happy how the art. hunt is going and feel very safe in Mordor. Only time will tell…
Enjoying the game so far and looking forward to turn 4!
Good luck-
John L.
I’m always open to learning and improving. I’ll keep a close watch on both the Dwarves and miscellaneous punctuation as I proceed. You still got infinity backwards, though. Mirror, mirror…
Regards,
The Dark
1.229 posts Veo, if I didnt know any better I would think you have nothing
better to do… :bash:
Hey IronLord, remember 19? The game you dropped even though it was
a no drop game… Well the Noldo took 5 DS Mordor major towns inc 3630
after you dropped… Shame, together we would have won that game! :stab:
Leave off Fragboy, he’s hairy and scary if you ever have the misfortune
to meet him…
Midgets
Cheers John, yes they were the prime two examples I guess. With blocking you can hold up those armies relatively cheaply costing the EO a whole packet and precious early pre-dragon / curses / most agents turns while you get time to develop. And then they get burned on the walls a couple of turns later . . .
Still, like I said you wouldn’t have abandoned it unless you thought that by doing so you’d get something of at least equal value - in whatever currency that may be so I’ll be interested to see how it develops - genuinely! I’m not normally into the sarcastic meanderings of the forum junkies like VEO and Vandal but when the chance comes to cross swords with them it’s always fun.
I’m also surprised to have been allowed to land on 1910 with so much so easily so wonder how will pay there too . . . guess we’ll know more tomorrow!
I think I’ll leave you with your version of infinity and keep mine (seeing as I share it with the rest of the English speaking members of the human race) if that’s okay with you.
Guy, clearly game 19 would have been won by the FP had events not gone the way they did. I was not the first to drop the none drop thus the 3 nation pairing issues…I am happy however that some good game changes took place after this. However all this has been talked about under two or three other threads. Lets talk 56!
Note on 1910 the FP are there with what 400 armies? I’m not sure how RH blocks all that, it looks like you came in from every which way but lose. Seems a tad overkill…
