There are rumors that Angmar is kicking-butt, too. All the gold in the world won’t save the Khazad-either. Did you recon at Moria?
Well, now that the Noldo capital has fallen for the second time this game, it would seem that poor old Elrond and company are homeless. They’ve shown up begging on the streets (as homeless people sometimes do) in Cardolan’s capital. A whole passle of these elves! Imagine them in rags on a street corner as carriages race past spraying mud all over their clothes and into their panhandler cups… sad. very sad. What has this world come to?
As to the IceKing trying to help save the Dwarves… Interesting… Very Interesting… But alas, it too shall not be enough. Moria is going down. Just ask the widows of the Dwarven pony riders who were just slaughtered in Cardolan. a whole army of dwarven pony riders (it was an amusing sight!) defeated to the last man (ok, the Dwarven commander did skulk away at the end, but only because he never entered the fray with his doomed companions).
Oh, and we have lodged a diplomatic protest at the incursion by rogue pointy eared ones into our western realm. They shall have to be dealt with.
This turn will see the Eothraim capital fall and there is nothing he can do about it. Those poor 800 troops he sent there to help defend it will be sliced and diced too.
Hmmm I think I’ll declare Mirkwood a no go area…except for my troops that is  Anyone failing to observe this will be next in line when the revolution comes
Din
Heya Din,
you can have eastern Mirkwood. Sorry to tell you though - western Mirkwood is already taken.
this message delivered by a lowly Cardolan functionary who has not yet succumbed to a poisoned elven dagger. We’ll leave him nameless to make it harder for the evil elves to identify him
Why don’t you tell me the name of this lowly Cardy functionary. I can promise you it won’t be a Elvish knife that kills him
Din - who’s feeling peeved cause he hasn’t killed anything for a few turns
Go West Young Din…
Heading West this turn to deal some punishment, though not by ship as that is for Elves alone.
A few turns to knock the WK off top spot…will certainly have a go a that and also to push into western Mirkwood as well.
Din
Well the Eoth capital fell as expected and he will lose yet another MT this coming turn.
I also decided to throw my lot in the Mordor fight and have moved an army or 2 or was that 3 that way. Trouble is i’m good friends with both sides so am open to offers as to who wants my armies/emmies on their side.
Ian
LR
And what can I offer you on turn 19, exactly…?
Ren, host to Din and Friends
Don’t need gold or anything like that, just a pledge on friendship nothing more.
Oh and just passing through, hope you have lots of beer cause my chaps are thirsty, I just cleaned the CL & BS out of the stuff so am moving on to the next pub in my massive once in a lifetime pub crawl. Next stop DrL’s capital.
Hic,
Ian
Okay, I hereby pledge my friendship to the Long Rider. You may note, I have a commander in the thick of the fight named in your honour - Uuvatha’s taking on the dread Duns against huge odds in the West for nothing more than the glory of the Lord of the East.
Ren the Loyal
We have armies in the same hex and you have powerful characters in my capital. Two turns left. Now, if you showed me your agents on the Cloud Lord or Easterling capital, I’d make a whole host of pledges and promises… Sorry, time to stick a fork in this one, go ahead and waste me as I have no choice but to issue the orders I have to issue.
Ren the Realistic
Well Brad,
if you look on the bright side, chances have decreased that we’ll see your capital fall on turn 20. Thank your friend the doggy who survived ji’s knife with a co 30 and did recruit one of the two recruitable dragons, who burned 5000 of my hi which were on a holiday trip to barad ungol.
stroke of luck here, that was hard to swallow
lets see what I can scrap together and throw towards you in the remaining time
as for the LR, he is basically a good chap to get along with, once you have accepted his desire for world domination
Well, well, well.
The Elvsies came to the Cardolan capital, partied, and left. We did find the body of one noble Cardolan commander deposited uncerimoniously in a trash heap outside town, but all in all, it wasn’t that brutal of a visit. Gosh we’re having to recruit lots of new army commanders up here in Cardolan. You know Ji, you may be being out-whacked in the whack-a-commander race by your ancient enemies the Noldo…
Quite a different story in Moria this turn where a small dwarven army under Gain I faces the overwhelming combined forces of Cardolan and Witch King. Bookies are giving 5:1 odds that Moria will fall. It seems only a few desperate dwarves are lining up to bet on its survival…
hey, here’s an idea for next fall’s hit primetime soap:
“Desperate Dwarves and the Ponies they ride on”
What do you mean about basically? and good?
Ok i’ll conceed the point on world domination though
Ian
LR
I bet Din’s still in the lead though, he wacked another commander last turn but I did fail on Grastly with another agent…something to do with not an appropriate target
Ian
LR
Powerful characters - check, check, check, check, check
Armies in the same hex - check
Oh well so be it Just to let you know I will give no quarter and expect none in return.
Shame there is just 2 turns left…but i’ve more or less dealt with the Eothraim so I need a new victim
Ian
LR
My apologies. I should have given credit where it’s due. ok, Din, you may have competition for most kills from the Noldo…
happy now?
The Doggy is slightly afronted at the suggestion that burning 5000+ Easterling hi was down to luck. Scorba was part of a carefully considered plan, I admit a different plan, but a plan nevertheless. As far as defeats go that was one of the best.
As for your Agents whenever Cloudy is in town my C10’s give him a good slapping. However, and I speak in deferential tones now, when Mr Long Rider comes a visiting the more senior of my Commanders go weak at the knees and can’t get kidnapped soon enough.
With two turns to go I think Brads prediction of Mordor stalemate looks to be all too true.
Well as Woody mentioned just 2 turns to go. I must thank him for the compliment, not wholly justified but gives my ego a boost anyway
I just hope that he doesn’t want to become emboiled in the Get the FK operation I have this past week joined. I have learned a lot in the past week, such as how the CL has managed to hold his own military against the 3 bigger Mordor nations and that all his agents suck, I mean really suck
