Game 68 All Neutral

Not many messages of betrayal yet. I know for sure there are 1 or 2 surprises on some peoples turns.

Who’s going to spill the beans and be first to be outraged at the double cross - or do you need another turn to see the attack happen before you admit to being duped.

I suppose that’s the trouble with only seing neutral icons, you lose that sense of enemy in favour of doubt.

Hee hee hee.

Trust no one and you wont be betrayed !! for your info elf those army icons
in mirkwood are mine. Avoid them lest they turn there attention on you, at present they seek out the woodman. Rumour has it he exists , darned if i can find him.

Public Service Message: Noldo Elves, an ally you cannot afford!

The Dunlendings have kept quiet to gain the true measure of the situation to the north instead of the propaganda. We are pleased to see our patience has brought to light the true measure of one of the main players, namely the Noldo.

Example #1: Noldo contacts the Dunlendings: ‘Join me or I will have Southern Gondor attack you’. Southern Gondor gets a message: ‘The Dunlendings are going to attack you’.

Example #2: Noldo sends a missive to the Dunlendings: ‘I will turn all of my emissaries against you and all of my agents’.

In the overall actions of the Noldo I find a nation that is ruled completely by his emotions. Someone turns on him so he acts like a jerk in trying to win allies. Someone doesn’t do exactly what he wants so he’s going to focus all of his efforts in an area far from where he can support while ignoring the enemies right on his doorstep.

So if you’re thinking of joining the Noldo out of sympathy, rethink that move. All you’ll be getting is a dead weight ally who is a slave to his emotions and will make decisions not based on wisdom but on how ‘unfair’ things are and how he is ‘entitled’ to you helping him to victory.

This public service message has been brought to you by the letter ‘D’ and the Kilted Television Workshop.

When someone refuses to answer any emails; then posts such a statement, you can only wonder what planet the Duns players is on.
Yes, yesterday I sent an email in responce to a Duns army on my pop centre, I said I could not respond with armies but I could with Agents & emiss.
Would any of you fail to respond to an unprovoced attack?
This is a WAR GAME. I offered WAR or PEACE.
For this player then to tell lies about me getting the Duns to attack SG, and SG to attack Duns, both of whom have not answered my emails, do I have that power? If I did I would be in a much better situation than I am now.
Corbin I am sorry if I have upset you by not laying down and wimppering, but if you attack me I will respond. You have no need to chuck the toys out of your pram.
As for the WK, I did not like what he did, and I have tried to get people to help me, but such help CAN ONLY be based on trust, not threats. I have been double crossed once. I should say that I have had to say sorry to WK for reacting badly, at least I still respect CJ.
You I do not understand, nor do I want to.
As for trusting me as a player, ask Rhudaur, and WK. I have nothing to gain by helping Rhudaur, but I will because I said I would.
At least WK admited his double cross, Duns?? who knows what he is even thinking? Perhaps it is a case of to much wind up his kilt?

Noldo

Plots, schemes, treachery, lies, propaganda. black intel ops, psyops, me-first and screw you. Now this is how this game was intended to be played. I hope the delicate ‘spirit-of-the-game’ types are taking notice and not just whimpering about how their mother told them not to do this sort of thing.

LOL. awwww come on Ed!

Some of us delicate types are playing it and are right in the thick of it all.
I doubt seriously that this was how the game was intended to be played (with Arth, Card, & WK allied against Rhu & Noldo & ???). Thankfully, my worry factor has gone down re: Duns now that he and Noldo are having at it on the boards!

Hey Corbin, I just want you to know that we free-minded peoples of Cardolan honor and respect the peoples of Dunland. We offer no threats and no lies. We offer friendship, love, peace and harmony. We’d think it just splendid if you were to join in the “eradicate that really old elf Elrond and his Noldor cronies” from middle earth campaign. We will give you rights-of-passage too! He has some nice grazing lands up there in the far NW if you need to expand your horse pastures… Right now we’re a bit pre-occupied with his Rhudaur buddies to the east… So… whaddayasay?

Cardolan-bob aka Dave-san

Ah yes…this is getting interesting… Chris: I’ll have an extra town or so in a post-Reklan Mordor if the Duns drive you from your homeland. You have, what, 7 or 8 extra trinkets to spare to help speed your refugee application through the system…?

Who has spare pops they’d like to hand off to a Free Hiring Ally…?

Brad for Ren

I have spare pops but they are currently occupied by others but not for too long

oh great… now we’re going to have the FK sending orcs to the Grey Havens to protect Elrond.

Elrond, Elrond… how far you have fallen…

Just go ahead and get on your ship and sail west…

Ah Elrond, why are you not man enough to stand up to your own words? That’s right, you are not a man but an elf. Just because ‘The Prince’ might be in the elvish library does not mean the elves have the capacity it implement it properly.

You have lied, by your own admission, in your diplomatic missives. You have been caught, stand up and be proud you at least tried to play instead of trying to lie when your hand’s been caught in the cookie jar and whimpering like a wee schoolgirl.

I point out again to the other nations that would consider joining these spineless, treacherous elves. Is this an ally you really want on your side? Sure some of his people are strong, but how can they do anything when they are whimpering and whining so much? How can you count on such an ally when the chips are down to be there instead of making excuses for why he has failed?

Enion

This is really funny. This is great.

I can’t believe people are upset at treachery and double cross in a 23 player FREE FOR ALL.

To the person who said something like “I can’t believe this is what was intended, ART, CAR and WIK vs RHU and NOL” - I ask why not? It’s a free-to-pick-the-allies-and-enemies-you-want-game.

It’s great that the NW is now split into 2 factions. I wonder which will win. I wonder if any other area has been split into factions - they are a lot more quieter.

What’s happening in mordor? Is it only FIK and DKL in a war and the rest are hiding in the shadows. I hope some of you are being reckless and doing things that you wouldn’t normally be able to do. It would be a complete waste of your time if all the mordor nations just allied - you might as well play a normal game.

So rumours of a DUN attack on SGO appear to be untrue now - or are NOL and DUN playing a game with us on the board??? Hmmm… we’ll have to wait and see.

Has anyone heard from HAR or COR? Are they playing?

And what is happening in mirkwood and rhovanion? I hear rumblings of a conspiracy. Is it true that LOR is coming to the aid of EAS? Is it true that DWA is allied to EOT and DOL? There are lots of icons in mirkwood - who is a double team and who is solo - WOO, SIN and DRL?

I think the main lines are drawn, it’s just difficult to see them

those few who are undecided yet should hurry up, jumping on a train that is already running might annoy those who are steering it…and also keep an eye on the game balance, of course

Hung, Drawn and Quartered more like :stuck_out_tongue:

Is the DoL in allience with the Eo? Thats very nice to know if true

By the Way I’ve worked out most peoples assumed names on this forum but which nation is Sc0rp10 playing?

You will need one of Mormengil’s black antelopes to figure that one out.

Too bad you were off hunting black antelopes in the mountains when this game blew up Ed, as it is right up your alley. Although I can’t place you, from the way you go on, I have no doubt our swords crossed back in the GSI days – I hardly ever knew who my enemies were back then, in the days before email, and sometimes not even my supposed allies. I don’t really think you could teach me anything about levels of complexity in the game as I’ve had my share of One Ring games and 50+ turn games (some bug hunts, some competitive like game 118 right now which started in 2001), but I’d like to see sometime.

Drew/CL68

Drew:
Weren’t you North Gondor in game 302? I was Arthedain in that one. You played one heck of a game. Took a pounding and never gave up. We won that one on turn 50 with the ONE RING. Good old days fo’sho.
Ed

Hell, I dunno, I’ve lost track of all the game numbers now that Harley recycles 'em. I’ve played NG in 2950 only once and got my head handed to me, but I’ve played 1650 NG several times. There was one game I was down to 4 or 5 characters and the DS thought I was dead, and was able to slowly rebuild off map; maybe that was 302, like I say, I dunno. But we’ve taken this thread 'way off-topic, so I’ll shut up now.

Great… at last I have an ally… thanks Scorpio. Can you just let DoL know please. LoR, have you finished off the Eas yet? or are you throwing him a lifeline?

And who keeps stealing from me??? You know it’s quite rude and is a capital crime… I’m running out of money and don’t need a freeloader helping themselves to my people’s hard earned cash.

Does anyone have any Agents that need to be trained as guards… I have some lovely places for them to guard, just drop me a note and I’ll direct you to the hotspots.

Cheers

Michael / Eot

Good Grief What do i have to do let you people know that if its in or to do with Mirkwood then its me and mine, so to let you all know again. The army icons in Mirkwood are MINE the thefts from Mirkwood pop centres are MY agents, its a fair Tax for letting you stay in MY des res forest horse boy. As for you elf boy pay up or pack up your choice!!! as for the woodman, ahh but who remebers such a distant memory?
Dragon Dude - kicked out of the south by the LR/Easterling alliance but surely king of Mirkwood by design.

Hi Michael,

Exactly where do you think your heading with your cavalry?

I have some agents  Actually Din is now good enough to start the really hard work of agents, volenteers anyone :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers,
Ian
