Clint, I too was “guilty” of sending product to the NM, but until very late in the game, both Sinda and Cards had a lot of gold stolen to the point I tried to run a zero treasury. Rather than risking putting gold into the coffers of the thieves’ employers, I opted to send what I had on hand. If you were selling several products each turn anyway, I don’t see the objection to getting aid in the form of commodities, particularly to a nation with the +20 mkt SNA? I thought that a better ploy than raising cash and risking it to the likes of IK, DkL, etc.
Thanks for the product Drew, very much appreciated. The problem with the NM was gold not product. I had plenty of product and was sending it to the Dwarves who sold it and then attempted to send it back to the NM.

The problem with diplo’s of 30 words or less, you have to pick and chose what you can say. At least the Northmen did not go bankrupt, as that would have prolonged the game.
I am still surprised my brother could bankrupt, as we usually build decent economies. However, when you get bad rolls and your camps don’t go down, you will be hrting the whole game.
As for the NO QUIT player rejoining. The problem with not allowing him/her to join is I don’t see the game getting up and running as so many of the current players want to play something new or cut buck on their ME gaming in general.
For anyone reading this thread. The level of cometition is better than any other gunboat game I have played. Generally speaking no one quits so the game will not be decided by drops, but instead by the best play. A game worth playing. If you play subpar, your actions will be exploited by the opposing side.
