Game 81

WOW - talk about “way off base” and misinterpretation. I think if one were to look up the term misinterpretation in the dictionary there would be a picture of you with this as an example.

Since the freeps are still missing a player, I will volunteer to pick up the position and and play three in this game. Please add me to your groupsite and state your current strategies for defeating the West Gate so I can effectively mesh into your collective.

Now this is the kind of stand up team play that is hard to beat! What a kind gesture. I say it deserves serious consideration.

Players sometimes join a game with a game-plan, and that can include Neutrals joining a particular side or other. That’s both within the spirit and rules of the game. Often players would like that persuasion would get those players to join a particular side but that’s not always possible. Some players intend to join a side from the game start, that’s allowed but not always wanted. What isn’t allowed is joining a game as a Neutral with allies.

If you want a game without Neutrals then there’s plenty of formats for that. (12v12 and Untold War for example). If you want a game without diplomacy (or minimal) then there’s GB for that as well as Grudge teams.

Clint

No, it’s not clear… this is your opinion, but it will be proved wrong. You have been affected by the morale failure within the ranks… but that’s your prerogative.

It was actually the FP that told the neutrals that you were winning right from the start… it was the DS that told the neutrals that they were loosing… that’s even with knowing Rhu had joined DS…

That’s why I posted oin the forums that this was being said… and that’s when the FP started writing they weren’t quite winning as easily as the newsletters had been saying… still… 11 v 10 with high gold reserves does not make it a DS win…

With Duns joining DS openly it forced the other 3 to decide quickly… and we split Har Cor to FP and guessed that Eas would go DS… It might look like Duns joined miles before us, but you’ll remember that the turn after he declared, both Har and Cor joined your team and started building forces etc, leaving Eas still undecided, but probably going DS…

As with most games, its actually the neutrals who choose which side to join, as long as both sets of aligned nations look like reasonable players (which in this game they do)… but some influence does help.

I think he did join the DS to balance the sides… if he had joined the FP, the game would now be over bar the death throes… Har, Cor and Eas all going FP would be a game win without any aligned nation having to do anything… no offense to Rhu, Dun going DS.

It looks like you and I disagree on most points about this game, both of us have been influenced by events differently… but since you are dropping, the game is already over to you… good luck in your future games.

Michael

Bill Fields has told you (okay, Clint thus, Us) it was an unintentional piece of coding, a mistake that GSI had tried, and failed, to correct in the past.

Do you never remember reading about some of the really early games… and I’m talking about the really early UK games, where prices were astranomical and people had millions in the bank.

Early, before the first fixes, which only partially worked, the final fixes are due…

OBN is not something new, it’s actually been part of the original “Spirit of the Game”…

It was a piece of broken code that, since it was broken, wasn’t written about in the Rules, and thus, once you learned it you could manipulate it for your benefit. Certainly within the “spirit of the game”, but broken none the less.

Brad

Wow!!! We lost more nations in a week fighting on the forum than we have during the entire game. That’s brutal. You should stick that in your code.

that’s apparently part of the spirit of the game also you know…

Damn, I didn’t think dragons flew that far south

The people of Dunlend are plainly insulted and horrified at what is taking place in their homeland…

the corsairs burned down our town right to the ground…and our ally the fire king was unable to stop the carnage…but so be it…had you kept the town you would have gotten thousands of leather and timber for the upgrades that were planned…but such is war…

the men of gondor have sacked a village and moved to another…this is intolerable to our people…surely our allies among the dark servents will not allow this to continue…

However, we are absolutely sure that our capital will not fall…it is not without pressure but we shall prevail…

We call upon these people who have marched and sailed so far…go back to your homes or we will bury you in Dunlend…in the swamps by Tharbad…

Cardolan: You and the knights of Arthedain may have beaten some of our forces, but we have done what we sought out to do; secure our homeland and free the people of Tharbad from your occupation. Now they can live in peace behind the castle walls…

Indeed our people have heard similar reports of war among the Rhudauran…the dwarves have come from their mountain homes and have engaged the brave soldiers of Broggha and Arfanhil in several areas…

We are all Dunlendings, We are all Rhudaurans…We are all going to claim the northwest of Middle Earth as our birthrights…

You have punched our peoples for the last time, we are united in a cause that is just and undeniable…the time for our counter punch is nearing…

Ground n’ Pound is coming,

Zilijah of the United Dunlend/Rhudaur Council

ever notice how nice the Fire King capitol looks in the fall seasons with the recent upgrades from a fair majortown to a booming City On The Hill? Surely North Gondor cannot wait to come for a visit. We are already escorting thousands of Southern Gondor’s war weary folk around the Minas Ithil since their war fighting has been ended. 1200 Blind Sorceror Cavalry on parade must have been the sight of the evening!!

And dear Adumir, don’t let the sun set on your boats…you will need them to get home. Your abortive attack against Vamag should have been a sign but since you insist on fighting Ren the Unclean shall bring about an end to the hostilities.

Perhaps fighting wars just isn’t the freeps game…I KNOW!! Let’s have a spelling contest!!

More balance is needed…come to the Northwest, I just know there are elves and dwarves and various men who can round out your list. jz 23

About the clan, well that happens sometimes…we have 4 players among our family now…we could be our own grudge team if we took 4 positions each…hmm…

but we still bicker like the north/south of ole US history sometimes…

Dear Lomelinde,

A couple more choice casualties were added to this list. Man, lots of juicy targets out there! Who’s next?

Ji and Crew

I hate to be the one to say this (expecting a backlash) but this is a pretty short list if you’re trying to boast about assainations after … how many turns?? 11 or 12?

Not quite 1 a turn is something we should be boasting about!!

Michael
Har

Ok, I will try to double those numbers in the next 7 turns! And boy is Pandora lookin mighty tempting!!

Ji

Just watch out for her box. I hear it’s deadly!!
