Game 94 1 Weeker Starts

Hi all, Morgoth here, Duns player. I have not played a 1 weeker for a few years so cannot be classed as part of the usual 1 week crowd.

For my part I asked for any Neutral at start up and got the Duns. I have played them a couple of times before.

  1. I did not get contacted by any free player at all.
  2. The bridge to Cardolan went down turn 1
  3. When I received my nation I leaned towards DS as it is more fun to play a Dun DS.

Darrel the Rhudaur player communicated with me after turn 2 to ask me if I was leaning DS as he had been told I was from the WK player. I confirmed 1 to 3 above to him as my reasons for leaning DS and suggested that he asked the DS for something in exchange for turning DS immediately. There were a few more E-mails back and forth.

What surprises me the most is the fact that I attended the FTF event in Cardiff where there was a free player from game 94 attending who didn’t even mention the game to me.

Anyway, I can confirm Rhudaurs leaning initially towards the free.

I am looking forward to a great game. I am surprised at the lack of attention shown to the WK and Dragon Lord nations and even more surprised at the use of the Dwarf starting army.

All the best,

Mark

Well Mark, like you said, you’ve not played a 1wk’er for years. Much has changed. Be not surprised that a fellow adversary did not mention a game you’re involved. Did you mention to her that you’re the Duns and what you were thinking? It’s a two-way street.

Nonetheless, it is shaping up to me a good one. BTW, what’s so surprising bout’ the dwarves? I think it’s their starters that sent the dog home w/their tail between their leggings. Since we’re on the topic of army usage, what’s up w/DrkL and LR? You show me yours, I’ll show you… well no I won’t. As for the WK/DrgL, they bore us. And you know us little folk, we’re not fast at anything.

Bain, The Dog Paddler

With the Stumpers short legs by the time they get anywhere the war will be over.

Regards Herman

Bain,

I think you actually did the DS a favour. The Eothraim will now have to come get Dol Guldor as the Dwarves have shot their bolt.

Looking forward to seeing a few (not to many now) stumpies on holiday in Dunland.

Mind you Tina (Woodies) will put up a great fight in Mirkwood. Dont know the Sinda player but it looks interesting.

All the best,

Mark

how can i begin this game middle-earth , i am from china ,i hope this forum admin can give more message about this game. can you can mail with me :suda45@hexun.com

thanks ,your best frineds

Contact , Clint at ME@middleearthgames.com , he is the best person to help you get started !!

That was a rather challenging fight on the plains. Didn’t think that old stumpie had the nerve to challenge by young apprentice let alone best him in battle!

Figured you might give it a go and thought either way it would be interesting… :frowning:

You have any idea how long it takes to train these guys…if you did you would have at least just whacked off an arm or a leg giving me something to work with!

Oh dear… this is rude!!!

Tarondor comes to visit Sauron and there’s no one home!!!

Guess I’ll just light a little fire of mine…

Who should he visit next…

Well well well. Early DS holocaust troops have to nip away at FP tax base to help offset the difference for when starting reserves are toasted. No success there, and the Evasive move to DarkLoo undefended Capital, with more pressure on Dark Lieutenants. Who’s that poor sod anyway? Thanks for coming, see you next game…

How’s it going over there in DS ville? Get your team all settled on now? You’re welcome. One day, the full story will come out and you’ll feel even worse than you do now…

Herman, you can’t really reply - you’re likely doing okay for this point. You were right all along, it was diplomacy that told the tale, except you got the part about who’s in control wrong…just like this game…

Aw crap, thanks Bain… Where’s Dol G? Can you send me the google/map link…?

EoBrad

DunLord,

Your words speak many truths. There may be a glimmer of hope for you yet. At least until I come a callin, rest assured. Not peacefully, just assuredly:D

Right now you bore me and my short legs are searching for the quickest fight around and I can hear the horns of Gondor calling out. As you know, Sauron sent his quickest ponies to test the resolve of our slow folk. Unfortunately, his chosen leader, Krusnak, panting heavily with fear, he could barely muster a battle growl and fought only like a little puppy. may he RIP.:bash:

So now I search for a real battle to “shoot my bolt”

And the Wood folk, yes indeed they are not to be underestimated. The lizard lord is no match for elven folk.

Bain,
Nemesis of the Dog

Challenging? I didn’t even get to shoot my bolt! and that’s what it’s all about youngster :stuck_out_tongue:

Come visit me when your all growed up, if you’re still in the game.

Sooooooooo, who’s got guard duty?

Bain,
Doggies Daddy

With the confirmation that Corsairs and Easterlings declared for the Freps on turn 0, I’ll leave this game now.

So let me get this straight… The neutrals in this game now break… 2x2???

Think you need this…

Interesting Kill Terry from turn 0… yea I am popular alright but not with the Good Ole boy network out there… You guys need to run around and vote how great each other are… But I’m not dropping becuase I showed Both Corsairs and Easterlings how to do it… seems like you didn’t watch very closely becuase the Market is just fine for DS…

But really nice to know why I shouldn’t play in any Indie games again!

This is exactly not how to restore this Game BTW!

Yep NW should be a real interesting time. I’m very glad as it usually ends up being a 4-8 turn rout of the WK and if one of the NW joins after turn 6 the WK is usually too far gone to be much help. Will be interesting to see if the extra distraction of the Duns can divert enough NGon and SGon firepower to help out the Mordorites. Dragon Lord will definetly benifit with Woodies and Sinda having to pay attention to both the WK and Rhu being just over the hill. The usuall extra clout from the Stumpers will get tied up helping out with Rhu and Duns also. If we can get some early Dammage on Arthy and Cardy it could get really ugly. Game on!

Regards Herman

The neutral split is 2 each with something odd in the middle (how 'bout those Easterlings in the last game, eh…???) and they’ve all moved early instead of building for 7+ turns and jumping in to screw people on the easy win side… Geez, some of us are totally confused - thought a “set game” this fast that was relatively even would make everyone happy…?? What exactly is the problem everyone???

That’s the spirit~!
