New Gunboat Alliance game

I think this means that player identities remain secret until Turn Six, at which point players can reveal their identities to each other. Please confirm.

On Turn Six, players can post comments to the ME forum boards. Can players also exchange emails with one another on yahoo groups or privately, so long as they agree not to discuss anything after Turn One? The rules as written seem to permit this, and that disturbs me a little bit.

Now 10/15 filled but I’ve got all the Neutrals so ideally I’m looking for duos (or players that have only signed up for Neutrals to send me some duos)

Thanks
Clint (GM)

Now that is interesting indeed, and shows the allure and power of the neutral nation: even with the choice of a pair of aligned nations the single neutrals are asked for first.

I’m in am gald i can play in this one… I like limited communication that is probably a huge shocker!

hehe, maybe having different rates for different nations…?

Harad, Cor, Noldo, CL and such are allways asked for, while others are in lesser demand.

11 players (of 15) but oversubscribed for Neutrals. If you have a friend you want to duo up with for the aligned nations that’s perfectly fine btw.

Clint

2 duos left to fill guys. Go on you know you want to…

Clint

1 duo left

Clint

Argh down to 2 to fill, including the original requester for the game. LOL

So if you know anyone who’s up for such a game maybe you can give them a prod?

Thanks

Clint

wait a minute here… you mean Mike the guy who designed the rules for this is now not playing? Is that what you mean Clint?

That’s odd.

Yes… :o

Clint

I’ve just had another drop from this format. I think that we’re unlikely to fill it at present. What do others feel?

Clint

You might need to put the project on hold until G75 ends, the original Alliance Game.

Well, all those involved should join Game 7 then if they’re going to have to wait…

so we were down to 1 duo need, then 2 duos need, now 3 duos needed? that’s a negative trend for sure. I wonder if the poor economy is rearing its ugly head? Personally, I can tell you that my family is cutting all kinds of expense corners.

OTOH, the fact that the originator and sponsor of this game format has withdrawn is a bit troubling and may have caused people to quit the waiting list.

I signed out, because I got slightly desillusioned by lack of communication in other GB’s…
If people don’t diplo in 5 turn diplo games, I dread how it’ll be in one where you can diplo every turn…

Also just come from a standard game where 4 neutrals hardly communicate, and 2 neutrals are completely silent.
Love the game, but hate how there’s no screening of players.
One game Noldo were played by someone who SS’d 4 times within 15 or so turns.
One game Harad never diploed anyone.
One game Noldo said “I intend to play my own game”, then dropped a few turns later.
2 GB’s one of the most sought out combos never diploed.

Please give important nations to steady players…

So will wait for a setup that has more strict rules, I don’t know how though, just something, anything. For instance SS’ing in GB’s should still cost you, as there’s no one to send in shadow orders.
Also 2 SS’s in GB’s within 10 turns, should mean that you’re open game, or that the combo be split to rest of team.

Anyway, in short I’m gonna wait for a change of rules.

Yeah… ranting

Gunboat combo’s are not split up to the team anymore.

Not sure how to incorporate the nations that are special serviced into the rules.

Well, Spivo - the sponsor is gone. So, feel free to propose specific rules changes to this format and let’s have a discussion about your proposals. maybe something good will come of it?

$1 a turn discount for diplos~!
