Hey Leonidas
We have a pure Danish Grudge Team, and are currently playing a FP team mostly of Americans.
Think the next game after that one will be against a Danish team also, but we might be able to figure out something.
Send me an email if you are interrested? (bovsan-nixbixspam@vikings.dk (Just remove the “-nixbixspam” from the mail)).
My first game featured eight Canadians on the FP side (5 from Winnipeg & 3 from Toronto). We were crushed miserably after 55 (three week) turns. Have since tried to get a full Canadian team going without success.
I knew I wasn’t making up DGI, I just couldn’t remember for sure. I stopped playing right as they took over, just started back again.
Anyway, I didn’t realize there was so many "national " teams already. Is there any way to set up some kind of tournament to see who’s the best? You know, friendly bragging rights.
If you guys would play a grudge match in 2950, I’d be happy to jump on… 1650 is too static for my tastes… kinda like chess. Good game, but only so many opening moves, then you’re stuck. Just my (twisted) opinion…

It’s already happening. It’s called the World Championships. I have teams from Brazil, Uk (2), USA (2), Spain (2), Germany and we had a Scananavian. Not to forget the Aussie team (undefeated!) (Have I missed any?)
The new PRS (Player Rating System) will show the results and there’ll be a regional part of the Grudge team to see who is the best that way I think. We’re likely to do a Ladder system as well.
It’s twelve aside pre-alligned. Rhu and Harad are DS and the Duns and Cors are Freeps, game on from the first turn. Good coordination and comunication is a must. It is a lot more cut-throat than a standard game.
Back in the GSI days, state teams were common. I recall a Virginia versus Louisiana grudge game. The general availability of email seems to have diluted the state team concept.
