That is because I don’t think I’m all that great of a player. Pre-PRS, I always gave credit to my long winning streak to my team-mates. I think MarK Jaede is one of the best players in the game, and half my games have been on teams with him. We’ve added some totally awesome players to the team as well.

Remember the root of my beef against the PRS? It rewards individuals for team success. A sucky player like me can get on a good team, and go 5 for 5 (even though only 2 of those 5 wins where with this team, 2 were individual games).

Yes let’s. The team I’m on wants to play WotR as FP. There is another team already waiting to play FP. I was hoping to use the animosity built up over the PRS as a way of jumping ahead of them on the waiting list.

The comment that we’ve fairly quickly won our last 2 games of WotR wasn’t bragging. It was an attempt to scare off weak teams.

There is a large difference between being chicken-****, and not being able to afford $180 a month for a game. Tell you what, you take over my $20,000 a year in alimony and child support, and we’ll play.

The offer was to switch sides and keep the same neutral split. Your team plays DS with Duns and WW. We play FP with Corsairs and Rhun.

My ex-wife had a propensity for affairs. Her first marriage ended due to her having affairs. She had affailrs on me as well. As much as I tried, I couldn’t fix her. I was married to her for 15 years before I divorced her.

If that were the case you would’ve titled the thread differently and just made your call for opposition simple instead of bragging about your team’s successes. You’re a hypocrite. And don’t leave those softballs up there about your ex-wife… You’re making it too easy to rip into you.

Unfortunately, DS himself is the one who has written in the past about a divorce, and some kind of surgery or something like that, I expect. If the individual opens the door don’t be shocked when others feel free to wander on in. Keep your personal life personal, and all the attacks here will simply be based on your play, attitude in game, and linguistic abilities. Those should be fair game, and childish name calling should be fair game also, frankly. It’s usually the attacker/name caller who ends up looking worse for wear, and those who whine about being “called names” on a public forum such as this show themselves as being even worse…

I think it is funny when Ben is painted into a logical corner and results to name calling and childish personal attacks. Far from complaining, I laugh at his childish flailing. In fact, I mentioned the alomony and child suppor, knowing he’d go for the childish and ignorantly incorrect, low blow.

Any moderator warnings about personal attacks ARE NOT based on me complaining.

Sheesh Ben, I didn’t know you were in the game, and I certainly wasn’t trying to rub (yet another) victory in anyone’s face. I was looking for challenging opposition.

Always bear in mind the insensitive, modern cliche:

I have to agree that when it comes to personal attacks: por writing, game play, record, attitude etc all seem fair game for the mocking.

That being said, I am the kind of person who is happy to read all sorts of ad hominem attacks on these forums. It makes me feel like the game really carries some passion to it. I never see boring old chess players getting this worked up on their message boards.

I think the hyprocrits are those that thought the PRS would be fun becuase it would give “bragging rights”, then get bent out of shape when someone mentions their win/loss record. The hyprocrits are those that wanted a listing of highest VP points, then get bent out of shape when someone plays a game trying to get max VP points.

I see nothing hyprocritical about asking for opposition in a thread entitled “wann kick my butt?” I see nothing hyprocrital in warning potential opponents that we’ve won both of our last games of this scenario fairly quickly.

I see nothing hyprocritical in offering to play BofA one-on-one when the proposed game would have cost $180 a month.

I didn’t even call someone chicken-**** for refusing to spend $180 a month for a one-on-one game, while refusing to play a cheaper version of a one-on-one game. Talk about hyprocrite!

I don’t complain when someone makes a donkey out of themself by tacking a childish and ignorant cheap swing at a softball I tossed up for them. I think it is funny watching you make a donkey out of yourself.

So, what exactly makes me a hyprocrite?

To clarify: Are you saying, even though we’ve asked people to refrain from posting anything that could be construed as a personal attack, that if dshimel makes a post that you object to, you will continue to make personal attacks anyway?

Who get’s to judge? When it’s down to “could be construed”…well, in our politically correct world, anything can be construed to mean anything else. Why not just lay off the forum and let people be asses if they insist?

Communists, Fascists and their like have this party line and dislike having anything public that has not been preapproved. Heaven forbid that we say anything offensive to thin skinned individuals or companies that dislike even modest opposition.
