***Yep, now the battle for Ithil Pass really begins. The extra timber, still have to look at that to see if you sold the rest back or if they might be war machines yet.
John

John
***Well thanks! The battle is long from over down here but I like my chances as long as SG stays away! North Harad is still a long way before I can really attack in force. The good news for you now is that the South Bridge is up and you have a lot of troops headed to Ithil Pass so I will have to deal with that and the forces of EO headed to the Black Gate.

In Summary:
Now for the planning of T7…
John
Bump up to top
Scott,
I should have my Turn 7 into ME by Thursday night so we can get results Friday. I will let you know when I have confirm emails that ME got all my turns.
Now where to send those agents and curse squad???
John
John,
I would send those agents and curse squad inside of Mordor, who knows, I might have a hidden pc there now that Rivendell isn’t hidden. Search it out before it bites you on the behind.
Scott
Scott,
Thanks for the tip. I just changed my orders around to deal with the hidden pop center. My mages are all learning reveal pop to find it
My turns are in. Good Luck to you!
John
Scott,
I do not have much time to write about turn 7 tonight but will soon. I think I had another good turn except I lost a second agent with arty to challange (first one I took a risk and lost). I am a little surprise you had NG at the far west MT and that you picked me up with a 30 stealth. Maybe you are tracking the arty? Anyway, outside of that all went as planned for the most part.
NW: Looking good for now.
–I won the 8000 Rhu troops vs 8000 card troops battle. Maybe the challange cost you the victory?
–So far I have only lost a town and village (captured back now) and took the NE MT.
–Only have incoming DW army now headed my way that I see.
–Arth tied up right outside WK capital. You lost 1 commander to curse…I wonder if you have another backup in that army
Mirkwood: Yours since turn 2 but EOplex now sees 3 armies headed his way and within a turn or two. Looks like SEorNM army on move to support EO area.
Rhun: Won battle against DW. I was surprse you did not attack with NM also as you would have won than. Granted you did take LR village. I am a little surprise to see army on North Road. Where did it come from…DW Iron Hill army? SE MT now revealed…not sure that really matters but it is. I think area is up for graps now.
Mordor–secure from what I can tell.
Harad Area - South harad only has 2 MT’s left and I have armies on both
North Harad you control but at least I got 2 towns so far.
Agents: Got 3 characters this turn I think (EO/DW/SG). Plus, got 1 from curse, 1 from challage and one from battle. You took out a 56A with 30stl arty to challange. I was moving him to pass off arty to CL, bad timing moving to your MT I guess. Just for your laugh…I have yet to get 1 stealth agent in this game from any Kingdom…maybe ME turned that function off in this game…hahahaha!
More later but have to run. Please add your own thoguhts on battle.
John,
Works been hell lately, will add my thoughts this weekend. Preliminary thoughts are that your not a nice person.
I look forward to your outlook on ME.
John
The World according to G.A.R.P. (that’s Good And Rightous People, for you people who don’t know (John)).
The Far, Far NorthWest
Going great (as far as I know), not a evil icon anywhere to be seen west of the 16 row.
Angmar
Not going too good for the good guys. The demise of the WK and Rhudaur will undoubtedly come, but will it happen soon enough? I think not, it’s turn 7 already and I haven’t gotten the starting Arthedain army to a bad guy PC yet, pathetic (or great blocks on the bad guy part). The second wave is coming, but…
Greenwood
Free, for now. Lots of eyeballs heading north, will be able to contain them, but playing defense isn’t cutting it. Got to figure how to get on the offense, quick or it’s over. This has become your point of attack now, shifting from the Rhun.
Rhun
It’s become slightly in my favor for now, but for how long? When will the next wave come? So far you’ve beaten me to the punch, got me reacting instead of acting, which is the recipe for disaster.
Mordor
With me playing defense everywhere, how could Mordor be anything but secure?
SouthWest
Kicking my buttocks, nothing else to say about Harad.
Overall
You’ve got a decisive advantage, in artifacts, characters, and the SouthWest. I’ve got a slight advantage in Greenwood and the Rhun, while Mordor and the NW (Angmar not the Havens) is a stalemate.
So, a stalemate in the two of the three most important geographical areas (NW and Mordor), with you winning handidly the third most important (SW), and you way ahead in artifacts, puts you way ahead in my estimation.
Not giving up yet though, I’ve got a few cards to play…:o
Just wanted to post a comment from the observers point of view…
…It is very refreshing to see a whole game perspective from both sides in a current game like this - neither of you gives anything away that the other player won’t already know, but the details you give alow we outsiders to get an idea of how things are panning out for both sides and is very entertaining.
I hope you can both continue this discussion of the game going - perhaps splitting off a seperate thread for turn summaries by both of you and keeping this thread as your ongoing game thread.
Well done on what appears to be a good natured and closely fought game.
Fedec,
Glad you are enjoying the thread, that is the main reason we use a public site vs just emails back and forth. I think Scott and I will just keep this thread going as anyone following it knows we are here.
So far this is a very good game that is still up for grabs. I do agree with Scott in that I have a slight advantage right now based on:
The rest of the game is split(even) as Scott states above except Scott has done a great job on the market and I am still trying to figure out how to time my buyouts better.
The best part of this game is Scott and I are both having fun and good spirited. The real question is after this game if we should switch sides but that is to be discussed after this game ends.
John
Scott,
Just an FYI, I hope to finish my turn tomorrow. I am liking how the game is shaping up right now. The next 3 turns will tell if I can get the upper hand or if you bring ME back in line.
I will let you know when I finish my turns.
John
I think you guys are both showing to be class acts by your good natured discussion of the game. Well done and thanks.
John,
Great, mine are in, it’d be grand to have the next turn (it’s the free one) to cry about when the fun of the holidays get to be too much:D . You know us habitual free players can’t stand too much happiness.
Have a great holiday season,
Scott
Ugh,
Worse turn yet of recent turns that have been gradually getting worse. Kidnappings, assassinations, cursing and dragons. Sigh, what can I do?
Scott,
Turn 8 is now history and I would say it went the evils way in a big way! I now for the first time IMHO feel I have a nice little advantage in ME….now not to make any mistakes!
Highlights!
–Elrond….The leader of the Goods have taken his last breath. The curse mages had a hard time deciding between the DW army headed to Rhu and Elrond but in the end Elrond won out. Just for the record, I cast LAT on #11 last turn (not this turn), the spell worked but I was unable to locate it??? Never have had that happen unless it is The One Ring or Dragon.
–Agents I calculate this turn took out armies with troops of about 1500 cav / 8600 HI / 1400 other
–Challenge of NM army in Rhun = 700 cav / 2200 HI / 200 other
–Artifacts: got #70 back, I now have most (not all) major and secondary artys now. Some how I beat you to the punch with most of these.
Market:
–You still doing a great job here. Nothing I have done has really helped prices.
Character Counts:
–From my quick review I have killed or kidnapped 26 characters of yours to my 6. Not bad. Now if I can just hold onto the kidnapped characters.
NW:
–WK and Rhu remain virtually untouched. DW’s moved 1500 troops onto 1910 but I have a force there to deal with them.
–Arth got the first taste of a Dragon (Smaug) but his starting army took it out! The specifics of my army was the following so you can calculate the Dragon’s Power if you like:
(Comm 84 / Morale 76 / LC,189 15.30.0 / HI,453 12.10.0 / LI,379 12.30.0 / AR,189 12.60.0)
Not sure if I would have won if I used my 1001 HI in my other army???
–Took out Second army commander of this army with agent, you have a 3rd I see
–See Arth and Duns advancing on towards WK/Rhu with Cards forming up again. Looks like Round 2 and 3 are upon me.
–Took out WM army at 2005 so that threat is done with only giving back DW pop now a village.
Mirkwood:
–Eoplex is now under attack.
–It seems SE’s 4100 troops and NM’s 1200 troops have joined the battle to save EO. Good timing on your part or EO would have been toast. I think I am taking down 1 MT of EO’s this turn as you only have 100 troops guarding 3112 (granted I did take out 3700 with agents). Not sure about 3113 yet with SE/EO against CL and DrkL troops…Need to do some math on this battle.
–Now I know what that army on the north road was last turn. DW’s from the Iron Hills. Looks like DogL and DW’s have a battle at CL’s pop at 3116.
–EO cav army still tied up at 3216 with another army. I can only challenge you guys so many times .
–Will take SE village at 2915 with FK…yeyeyye
–The rest of Mirkwood is safely yours for now.
Rhun Area:
–NM did not refuse my BS’s challenge even with your injury? That and DW’s Iron Hills army going to 3116 I think helps me a ton in the area.
–LR moved navy on SE’s revealed MT, will take this turn.
–So only the NM’s starting Capital remains for the most part.
–SE’s army of 1700 troops trying to make it to 4217 but intercepted by DrkL army.
–Small battle at NM Capital that had about 600 vs 600 with NM winning. But another army is on NM’s front step and will arrive next turn. Not sure what else you have in area so it is looking good for me over here I feel.
South Harad:
–I now own 100% with a capture pop center and threat.
North Harad:
–SG will take my only pop (village) in area.
–Harad controls with no other armies in area except by NG’s south bridge.
Mordor/NG:
–Took out 2 huge armies on the east side of river of SG and NG with 3 agents.
–Took out South Bridge again with agent.
–No threats in area. Only Navy or bridge going up can get troops to Ithil Pass.
–NG/WM will take back 2619 area after DogL took down both NG’s towns.
John aka Evils plus Cor/Rhu
Scott,
We are online at the same time and must have posted the last 2 message at the same time. Yep, this turn was huge for me I think. My summary is above. I will check tonight to see what I might have missed that you can point out.
John
John :stab: ,
I agree with almost all of your statements above, turn 8 was a killer for the free. What you call highlights, I call lowlights, but I must give credit where credit is due, you’ve out maneuvered me across the board the last few turns.
Poor Northmen army commander, I didn’t refuse because he was a captain and your guy was a hero, I thought that you wouldn’t challenge because of that and I’d be able to beat the army and move. Poor misguided Northmen, should of looked to see what Mage skill that poor BS army commander had, just didn’t think of it. So, the Rhun area is looking bad for me now and I even though I don’t think that you’ll be able to take both the Rhun and keep the amount of pressure on Greenwood, it still makes my job of going on the offense almost impossible.
The EOplex is under heavy attack now, but besides 3112, I feel that I will withstand this onslaught (your taking that big army out was a killer).
The NW is terrible, I still feel I’ll take it, but now with dragons showing up it’s going to be really hard. Like you said, the 2nd and 3rd waves are moving in now, but the DW faces another dragon at 1910 and who knows where more will show up. Elrond dying was a pisser:mad: , but I did leave him there too long, I was trying to make that small pop center into a town to make up for Rivendell falling, but it is not to be.
The game is decidedly in your favor now but I’ll not give up with out a fight. I feel that my miscalculations with the EO cav right at first (moving to Dol Guldor vice Morannon) cost me as well as not planning on your blowing the NG bridges. South Harad was a slaughter from the start.
You’ve played (from my point of view) a flawless game so far and I must tip my hat to you. While I, on the other hand, have made tons of mistakes. The only thing I’ve done according to my plan is keep the market down so you will have to struggle, but it doesn’t seem that your struggling too much as you are fielding huge armies and they cost money.
Till later,
