Game 26 - The War of Liberation Begins!

You still haven’t done much except knock out a nation that usually gets knocked out. I’m still not impressed.

g231: that game was the first game for team JERRY MELLERICK too. We really must get a snappier team name, don`t want the irish guy getting a big head… Hence the slow start, too many indians, no chiefs, players dropping etc. Was fun though.

g26; this is a Team Lush enterprise, and doesnt it show? LOL. Our little socialist commune is fun, but lacking in certain skills...like staying sober long enough to put a plan together. As i said elsewhere, this is the first game for this team of [admittedly] experienced individuals. I am looking forward to a good long game, however, and have been quite impressed by some of your play, though i have my doubts about long term strategy. I am having fun, and looking forward to the challenges ahead. I hope you stick around for the long haul too! Youll have to come to mordor at some point if you wanna beat us, that`s where all our capitals are…

They still suck…

Youll have to come to mordor at some point if you wanna beat us, thats where all our capitals are…

i[/i] Uhm…we have been in Mordor for quite some time, now. But, to…uhm…clarify…a bit, the Armies will be along presently.

As to the Capitals…yes. We’re in a very big hurry to lead our Characters into the pit to be slaughtered by the infamous (and by now, no doubt, voluminous) DS assassin pool.

All things in their time. MEPBM is, after all, a Character game…

Regarding the taunts and boasts that seem to be an ongoing part of some threads of conversation here, I’ll have to say that neither side has thus far delivered much which smells of surprise victory…yet. However, there have been several delightful surprises - some quite effective in their own way, it seems - and that, for me, is the reason I pay to play this game: Enforced fog of war.

Though I got my hand smacked badly for taking a few risks when that mongo horde showed up and started overrunning Armies, it was a total squeal of joy that errupted from me upon its discovery because you can do those sorts of things in this game. It was a thing of beauty and joy to behold – despite the fact that all the while I was also computing how many Commanders I was going to have to throw at it and its resident assassin in what seemed like an endless stream of sacrifices in order to whittle it down to manageability.

Likewise, I suspect we surprised you with our first magical assassination of Pig Killer at Sarn Goriwing on Turn 7; it is the joy of planning and executing which drives this game. I personally also take great delight in seeing the results manifest - even when I’m the target - because it is precisely those surprises that, for me, differentiate this game from pretty much any other out there.

When the taunts and boasts revolve around those surprises, I enjoy them, from both sides. When they are general “We;r goiin too smas you you tine vilan you” kinds of posts, I find the time spent deciphering them rather wanting for reward.

But, you know, to each his own and all that rot.

I would, however, like to thank Team Lush for the game thus far; on the map, in any regard, it has not been exactly boring. That would be the point of playing, no?

You still suck…

Ya, you guys SUCK!

Master of the desert and desserts! (eat your heart out pie boy!)

I foresee a name change in one of the DS Nations in about 22 hours or so…

Yup. Thought so.

How’s the Short Rider doing now?

I’m doing quite fine, thank you. How’s North Gondor doing?

BOOO!!!

the little gondorian cowards took the bridge down.

and i was so looking forward to crossing over and torching everything in sight.

Spoilsports!

The Old Hoar

Taking a beating and trudging along, as always. Thick skin, and all that rot.

Hi guys. Looking through the messages and I dont know any of you guys on the other team. Have been playing this game for nearly 14 yrs and I still lose. Managed to bankrupt the Eothriam on turn 3, hold Gondor for 23 turns unaided against the whole of Mordor which should be impossible. Whats an ‘A’ game nayway imposter THEODEN, as I am the only true horsemaster( dubbed MR.Cavalry by the Any at FTF). So spout away I know my guys can hack it and hot air only serves to create a smoke screen for a nervous disposition. Oh and cursers dont have to be in the same hex, a wee hint. Night night sweet clueless commander.

Oh and I can spell, typing is questionable though. An ‘A’ game is for those that cant be bothered some of the time

Well you might want to find a nice bottle of lube with the reaming you’re about to take.

Been stocking up, actually.

Knowing it’s coming doesn’t make it hurt any less. :frowning:

Steve Mariner here – pleased to meet you. This is my second game. The first was against Clint’s team and lasted 10 turns. Looking forward to getting to know more MEPBM players, Grudge or otherwise.

Both of ‘dem’s braggin’ rights, although the former only in certain circles and generally with lots of beer or whiskey available…

Often this purpose, but it also serves others. We managed to lure all your Agents, knives and all, into a gunfight. And on at least one occassion it appears to have helped mask military maneuvers.

Although I will have to (silently) side with you guys in your retorts to our grammatically- and spellingly- challenged but otherwise much esteemed leader of Rohan. It is…well, let’s be frank here, 'cuz that’s the only mode I’m particularly good at – painful to read his posts.

If you think we needed to know this, you clearly haven’t been paying very close attention to the effects of our Curse Squads.

But, then, hot air, as a great man once said, only serves to create a smoke screen for a nervous disposition.

The Old Hoar

Gimme a minute. The skin’s still peeling where I burned 'em on the coals.

But I’ll be back, and a little less arrogantly.

Damn, thought I had you, sir. Cruddle-scuts!
