Game 26 - The War of Liberation Begins!

Ouch.

Send our regards to Snaga, that lucky bastard.

Just tell me what hex he’ll be at and we’ll make a special delivery.

Oh, we screwed up, and it’s not trivial, but we’re far from out of tricks just yet.

I still say the enforced fog of war is the single reason I, as an unrepentant wargamer, put up with this fundamentally Character-driven game.

Darn you.

I’ll highly doubt you’ll be back… In fact I’ll just travel up to meet you. Care to meet at Shrel-Kain?

Poor Steve [dwarves, s gondor] got it roughly on both fronts last turn…guess what? Things are only gonna get worse from here on in…

We [well, i, as in the Royal WE] think that nice little PC maneouvre by Uvatha not only saved his MT from a burning, it meant we actually won the battle at 4425 and tipped things from a stalemate in the east to our advantage…as for the west…take cover!

Stalemate my ass we had you on the run and that was the kind of mistake I was hinting at we let you back in the game right then. Its this kind of STUPID mistake that causes me to have fits of anger and lots of extra gray hair. All he had to do was rfspers and dstpop and done who cares what happens to the army commander after that but no he wanted to keep his guy alive. Commanders are cannon fodder and are made to die. Lucky You and yes that was a gift lets hope it does not happen again.

Theoden

You guys got very lucky with your blocking move south of 4425. That Dwarven army of 350hc was about as close to been over run as it made no difference. You were lucky to be in 4425 fullstop.

As regards been on the run next few turns will show you exactly how many DS troops are in rhun theatre. I guarantee you won’t be a happy camper…

Ovatha [I’ve got Mumakil ;-)]

Hating to be one to show any hint of dissention in the ranks, I have to stand up for our dwarven player. So to Lord Theoden I have but this to say, “People who live in glass houses…” The cluster F&*K at 4425 was an error we were playing aggressive and these things happen when you do that. We took a chance and it didn’t pay off. However if you had not had Uvatha there we would have burnt 4425 and possibly be burning 4228 this turn. Alas such is war, however we have several assets to deal with your armies, so I wouldn’t get to excited about what you may or may not burn.

Do I need to repeat what I said earlier… Why, yes… I think I do.

You overestimate your successes and underestimate ours.

As our team captain states it will be what it will be! You have had no great sucess in this game so far you hammered the gondors for the past 5 or so turns WOW big suprise. Thats normal you kill 5 commanders and the gondor nation replaces them the next turn ok north gondor is down to 13 lads and ladies a mix of everything. He will be back to max char soon enough of course you may hammer him again ,and he will be back to 13 once again. My point is they are both still in the game. Thier is allot of game yet to be played hope you the best but in the end we intend to win this one. With the help of some of our own players or without thier help. The dwarves should get a case of beer of whatever just to say thanks for thier big gift.

Somebody needs to stop this broken record already.

–Ah i love the smell of the first sign of intrateam dissension in the morning…smells of victory!

Freepie Fellas:

Reality Checks:
[1]There was NO WAY you were getting anywhere near enough to 4428 to burn it. Im sure youll find out soon, and i dont think im giving away any state secrets here…

[2]North Gondor will find it damn hard to rename any new characters when he [a]doesn`t have any left or [b]Have a capital to do it safely in…

Come and join the party, you know where it`s at…

Hard to name new characters when you don’t have any money…

On the contrary, it was tightly calculated.

But all for naught. sigh

Heh. Rohan and I have been going at it since about Turn 3, I’m afraid. Our styles are just too different, I guess.

This one was my screwup. Ben pulled a move on me that I myself had been thinking about using but didn’t know how effective it could be.

Heh. I guess I have my answer now.

If nothing else interesting happens this game, I want to thank Ben here and now for this past turn.

See you there…for highly variable values of “there”.

    Dwarves/S. Gondor - 26
    Dwarves - 27

Yeah, and both my fault. Lovely.

That remains to be seen, although with Spring here, something tells me DS Assassins shall sprout readily forth from the very ground upon which we walk.

I’m still cringing from what I’ve done. It’s not trivial – but neither is it irrecoverable.

Heh. Just remember that surprises exist everywhere, and take many forms.

I look forward the to surprises, and have a coupla notions as to what they may be…it`s all part of the challenge! [I still think you are wasting your time at 2135  ]

But, as you said, with spring comes new hope and new disposable income [especially if we keep taking enemy pop.centres  ]

This game is coming to life right now, long may it continue!

Yeah, we’ll try to make that a little more challenging for you. I’m afraid, however, you’ve earned yourself a turn or two of DS Romp. Enjoy it.

For variable definitions of ‘life’, sure.
