Game 27 - The Ride Begins

Truly and under utilized talent. Rumor has it that there are a few artifacts that grant this as a secondary bonus.

Are the DS ready to surrender yet?

Just checking.

Nope.

You?

Macman aka QA

hope all turns went as planned though i am sure not all will be happy.

This is Just to Say

I am taking
the town
that is next
to Osgiliath

And which
you probably
needed
to pay troops

Forgive me
it is productive
so unprotected
and so cold

Alas, were we to surrender, we wouldn’t be able to bring you Freedom.

So our answer must now also be “No.”

Hope you see the light soon.

The Captains of the Outlands of Gondor extend their sincere condolences to King Hoarmurath in his frigid halls. Two down, three to go, eh?

Signed,

Imrahil, Prince of Dol Amroth
Duinhir, Lord of Morthond
Golasgil, Lord of Anfalas
Angbor, Lord of Lamedon
Forlong the Fat, Lord of Lossarnach
Hirluin the Fair, Lord of the Green Hills of Pinnath Gelin

How pathetic.

The pickings at Os this last turn were so lame that we had a tough time identifying any worthy targets. Since the Dark Servants have a soft heart for families we sent Faramir to join Boromir in one of those cute litte boats that float down to Denethor.

The 2nd target was even tougher since there was no amusing subplot. Lacking any particular guidance we went for an alphabetical theme and took out Anborn.

It was nice of the Freeps to flee Os and give us a some fresh meat at Barad Perras. And to send us an SG admiral for the folks who are still at Os.

But come on – send us some Elves. Those pointy ears taste great when pork fried!

Ji Indur

I’d be just as happy having Imrahil come for a visit. Keeping the princes all together in one burial mound will make the post-war tourist industry easier to manage- and with all the plunder to be had in Gondor, Im sure our orcs will be itching to spend some hard earned loot on touristy stuff…

How does a Dwarf define freedom anyways?

Seriously- they live in deep dark dungeons, in cold, far away places; eat moss, lichen and whatever else they can catch down in the depths; toil endlessly in quarries and mines in search of whatever they can find to sell- which apparently they DON’T sell- and all for the pleasure of being plundered by whatever dragon happens to be in the area at the time.

Sounds like an orc’s life- only we got out once in a while… hmmmmm… perhaps we should be allies?

Macman - QA

I’m trying really hard to come up with a counterargument to this.

What the heck. I’ll join your team – let’s swap PDFs. You can send yours to skmme --at-- bhmk --dot–com. I’ll get your return E-Mail address from that message and send you some PDFs back.

Only a Dwarf would be dumb enough to suggest this or suggest it!

JCC

Ahhh but perhaps he figures an Orc would be dumb enough to ACCEPT such an offer…

This is why the NAZGUL are in charge- not the orcs.

We decline your second offer. Keep 'em coming though!

Macman- QA

You are absolutly right - you cant trust a dwarf. BUT elves on the other hand
they can always be trusted.
Galadriel

Thus speaks the deceitful and conceited. Those that would have all follow them to an icy grave and death as they did to so many before .

JCC

Uhm…so…which is it?

Hey, it doesn’t hurt to try. Personally, I think it would be really funny if the Dwarves started attacking other FP Nations…you just missed out on a real opportunity here.

If that’s what you have to keep telling yourself…Nice Nazgul, nice Nazgul…here’s some shiny metal to keep you occupied for awhile.

Sorry, too much ale last night. What was the first offer?

You asked in post #42 if we wanted to give up yet… we declined that one first, and came back with our counter-offer. Negotiations ultimately led us to this impasse. Stubborn Dwarf!

And for the record- it’s not JUST the shiny metal stuff… it’s the whips and chain thing too!

Macman - for the QA

A short screenplay.

FADE IN:

INT. QUARTERS OF REGENT CAPTAIN ADRAHIL II ON BOARD THE AMROTH, FLAGSHIP OF THE SOUTH GONDOR FLEET – NIGHT

An overcast night looms outside the small windows at the aft of the ship. ADRAHIL II (a tall, well built man in his early twenties) is asleep in the bed across from the windows. JI INDUR (a slender figure in a black cloak) silently opens one of the windows, and just as silently enters the captain’s quarters inside. As he turns, he draws a slender, black blade and stalks across the room toward the sleeping figure. In the middle of the room, JI INDUR trips on his cloak, stabbing himself on his own knife.

        JI INDUR

Ahhhh!

ADRAHIL II startles awake.

        ADRAHIL II

Who’s there?

As ADRAHIL II draws his sword, JI INDUR leaps to his feet, his own knife still in his gut, blood pouring from the wound, staining the ornate rug under-foot; and lunges for the window through which he entered.

        ADRAHIL II

Turn and face me, coward! I’ll kill you with my own two hands!

JI INDUR simply hisses as ADRAHIL II takes a mighty swing with his sword and cleaves into the would-be assassin’s back. The wound is not fatal, but there is no chance to inflict any more as JI INDUR slinks out of the window and onto the docks, fleeing into the night with his tail between his legs.

Better luck next time. Or not.

Adrahil II, son of Imrahil, Regent of Dol Amroth

I can’t wait for the sequel!
