Game 81 Grudge Begins

Curses - that lousy refuser Gimpforn survived, Ill get him another time soon.

Dear Dwarfies

Grasty is very pleased by the hospitality in the Ivory Tower pub, in turn he will tell the good, but short, peoble frequenting this watering hole in the middle of nowhere about the dangers of running such a place without adequat military protection.

Corsairs military victories IRL french military victories?

Loke:D:D:D

You might be surprised where the dwarven empire’s armies roam… {maybe not…}

Question for the Dragonlord: Does his Duran army have a great worm aiding it? I figure you guys think you’re so far ahead in this game you wouldn’t mind telling me. It probably won’t change my orders, but curious none the less.

Dave
Dwarf

Of course Duran’s got a great worm hidden in his tights, I know myselfl from a close encounter

Blond Sorceress

Fupstein,

Reading between the lines, my Dwarven army shouldn’t have much of a problem then. You do know why Dwarves use Axes versus Swords, right? It is all about lower hip Balance… We also know without a dragon, orcs and goblins are no match for a stout Dwarf! I guess the fairy elves can help too.

Dave
Dwarf

Let me see now; 2 Eo Mt´s will fall, in the mean time we steal his gold, the Corsairs are still under pressure, fighting a desperate battle against QA and Harad. Both Gondors are rallying their troops and hurling them into the pass of Minas Morgul (formerly known as the pass of Minas Ithil). The sea of Rhun has seen many battles and the popcenters at its shores have changed hands many times, allthough it seems that they slowly will fall under our control. Witchy and the Rhudaurs are holding their enemies at bay and retaking lost territory. The Sinda and Shorties are checking if the Dragon Lord has any dragons, I greatly admire their bravery:D. Few enemy commanders will leave Mordor after leading their armies into defeat - some dont even get there.

All Nazgul and Nazgul-wannabee are recruiting with the goal of snatching all they can get to improve their nations and economy - No one can stop this greedy avalanche.

Minister of Propaganda and filthy Deeds.

Loke:D:D:D

Loke,

You must have your Mumak helm on backwards again…

WK/Rhu holding about as well as the Corsairs. Taking back territory? Where? Maybe you are referring to the territory you’re donating to him in Mordor??

Dave
Dwarf

Hounered Dwarfies

Even with my Mumak Helm on backwards, standing on my head in a shallow ditch I saw Murazors boys threatening back two pops, ofcourse this is only the beginning of a great counteroffensive:D. The corsairs have a huge navy but I doubt they are tempted to leave the safety of their ships only to face our superior armies on land.

Oh by the way, hows Nimrodel doing?

Snickering Loke:D:D:D

WK threatened away 2 PCs? Ok, maybe he did get a camp or village or something insignificant, I’ve kind of left that part of the world for the moment so those minor details may escape me. But, when you claim WK/Rhu are making up ground, that is a pretty good stretch of the imagination given the last couple turns. But you are standing on your head afterall.

Can’t speak for the Corsairs, but I’m at least realistic in saying they know they are outnumbered and out gunned at the moment. I guess if I stood on my head, then I can say they are gaining momentum and ready to counterstrike?

Nimrodel? Ask the Elves, maybe they are listening? Dwarves like to rant on and on and on. Did something happen to him that I should be aware of? As far as I know that stringy tall fellow is off playing his stupid harp instead of kicking some orc meatbags around like he should be.

Dave
Dwarf

Hey, are you going to resurrent Fangorn anytime soon? Maybe you can mock your buddies through it? That would be funny!

Dave

I agree in terms of taxbase and recruitment these two pops are insignificant, the only interresting thing about them are the fortifications. Considering what they are up against Id say they doing quite well. Remember, Witchy is annoying the Woodmen too.

Old Treebeard is hibernating for the moment or so he claims, my guess is that he is trying to avoid getting scorched by all theese firespewing lizzards.

Loke:D:D:D

I agree that the WK/Rhu lasted up north beyond turn 10; so they have done well. I’m thinking that success is about to come to a close with so much of there recruting base gone up there and so much coming at them. I’ve played the WK several times, it is my favorite position to play, and while I play it a little differently I give anyone credit for surviving this long. I also give your team credit as it usually takes some help (agents, resources, etc…) from Mordor too manage a solid defense.

Dave
Dwarf

Yippy! No Dragon for Duran.

Looks like the Dragonlord capital is dust, probably at the cost of at least one of my commanders, but you all have so many to choose from…

Dave
Dwarf

Looks like the northmen and eothraim capitals was what you had to pay. You may take a city from Dragon lord and you’ll only lose 6-7 eothraim and northmen MT’s in the process. Characterwise it was DS 7/8 kills or whatever and you managed to get Duran and thats it. (so it appears from the pdfs so far) Well you might wanna do a little better than that in the next few turns.

Greetings short ones

I guess all, except our Drag Lord, are quite satisfied with exchanging Dol Guldur against Shrel-Kain and Buhr Waldmarh.

The market is now completely under our control even without future buyouts:eek:. We have only to capture some of your pops to have a decent tax and recruitment base.

Hasty as I am; I declare that no free troops ever will reach Barad Ungol or travel beyound it. The tide has turned and flooding of Northern Gondor has now begun.

Loke:D:D:D

Turn 14 and Cameth Brin is still standing, now back to its former fortification level  It would have been nice though with some more armies for Arfanhil’s trousersnake to deal with

Simon

Hi Dave

Furins agent rank prior to his fatal (and self inflicted) accident was 63 or am I wrong? Just curious, I guess it was a risky order.

Loke/Holger

Furin was high enough rank for the order. (Bad luck has been our undoing…) Why not risk a little at this point, huh?

Cameth Brin survives only to serve dragons, not because of Arfanhil’s impotence, as w/o the dragon’s help, he would have nothing left in Angmar. Where is the rest of your kingdom, including the city gift from the WK. Over 10k troops have been dragonbait at 2008, so it isn’t like we haven’t made an effort.

Rhun is yours it appears, well played. We certainly have learned a bunch in our beating.

Brag all you want, you’ve played a great game. I hope after it is over you all are men enough to help us learn from it and mentor us for the next one.

Dave

Even odds and we lose out to taking out one of your best killers (Enion vs Boaconstrictor). Just saw the Dun turn, just can’t seem to get the die roll in this game. Taking out Boa would have been a big help.

Dave
Dwarf

Dear bearded halflings and fellow victims

Hrmm - even odds? - my highly skilled and gracious Boa:rolleyes: versus the Dunlendian Donkeyrider Enion. It is neither bad luck nor anything else, he was marked, he only chose the most honourable death - fighting face to face with his exucutor and not waking up with a slit throat catching one last glimpse of his bane, dying the honourless strawdeath. Maybe Furins (once again a happy-go-lucky donkeyrider) death wasnt that surprising after all, an amateur against the most dangerous assassin in our era, me thinks it was foolish even to consider it:D

Im very gratefull for the former dwarven camp, Ivory Tower, now I can raise an army of evil dwarves, half as tall as my troopers, but as noisy as ten times their numbers.

Loke:D:D:D
