I’ve only seen 4 turns so far, so hard to comment fully yet.
You did get my Dwarven Ring, Bain was quite irritated, but it is only a ring. As you said, made it out alive to wipe out some goblins this turn so not so bad. Other than that bit of bad news, the Dwarves were quite happy with the turn.
Ring of Impersonation stolen, big inquiery in Southern Gondor. Will the careless former owner be tried and heavily fined after the famous Sauron-method?
Big standoff in the Pass of Minas Morgul. Are the North Gondorians afraid of entering Mordor, will they send in the Dunlendian Donkey Riders and chose a heroic defence?
Dilgul captured - Akhorahil invites to a big celebration - midwinter beachparty - everybody welcome - even gatechrashing Dwarves.
Elrond visits Cameth Brin, looking a bit silly sitting on Elladans shoulders . What are they up to? Seeking a new refuge after their hideout Imladris has been found out?
The Corsairs final battle in Northern Harad - Will Ardumir ever revisit the smoking ruins of his home, South Gondor sends reinforcements - are they preparing for the final “Blitz”?
We still are short a couple turns, but you failed to highlight a few other significant deeds.
Orduclax’s demise challenging weaker opponents; I guess the David beat Goliath this turn.
Another Rhu town joins the Free, and it appears they will lose another this turn. Hmm, not much left for them, glad the market has been good for you so you can provide choam charity. Pray for dragons Arfanhil.
Ring of Impersonation, Ring of Dwarven Power gone to the DS for a time. But it seems we have replacements…
Just recieved an e-mail telling me that this game is over:D, must be a mistake. There are a few more arties we like to steal from you before the game ends - so watch out for a thief near you.
From my knowledge, there are a LOT of artys you need to steal, or you’ll have some major problems soon. Of course, I bet you can’t wait till our agent cores get going too, huh. Wonder if Uncle Ji would like to know who betrayed the Cloudies to train the goodie agents???
Insulting Uncle Ji eh? - he may be a lyer, a coward, a murderer, a traitor - but he is not a thief, why steal an arty if you can bump off the owner and then pick it of his corps. I just bragg about others exploits as they are too lazy to do it themselves. Oh and I cant wait to see the sissy Elves trying to assass doped up with arties, doing something that is second nature to any cloudy agent. Lets see how many armycoms get it this turn. Lost no agent until now and 3 new ones will soon enough spread death among your commanders. Give old Elrond an army and he will be a primary target.
I really didn’t read an insult to Uncle Ji, only that one of his disciples has been teaching in our agent guild, and he might like to know who. It is unbelievable the amount of new agents we have that got massive stealth bonuses!! Anyway, you’ll see soon. Actually, the more I think about it, it was really a compliment more than an insult.
Quiet turn this round, must be a bunch going on in the high council room of Mordor. Don’t let the Quiet Avenger run the show, we enjoy the banter. Wait a quiet woman? Isn’t that an oxymoron? Lots of covert planning going on, and dont’ want to tip the goodies off.
Your mighty armies squashing the poor Rhudaurs, with a little help of your friends ofcourse, and getting slapped on the wrist near Rhun. Bain has fought his last battle and his hoard of artefacts has changed hands. The Cloak of the dark Abyss has unfortunately done so too, you win some and lose some. There seems to a big convention of chickens in Minas Ithil, why did they not advance to fight? The overall picture is not exactly to your advantage and it includes the artefactrace you won.
To few armies disbanded this turn, but Ohtars demise was a perfect one. Are you really using all those fine agent artys only to sabotage some fortifications, if you dont use them better we must step in and confiscate them. Its like using dragons as paperweights.
Bain went out in glory, fighting to the last. Such is the life of a dwarf. I assumed he was pretty much toast over there in the Rhun. Dwarves don’t really need artifacts anyway, nice toys but they don’t do much without a good army behind them. I’d much rather have a good Major Town than a combat arty.
Doesn’t look good for the evil Rhudaur High Council. They are about to be relocated unless they can pull a dragon “bunny” out of their hat. They may find themselves located in Mordor soon.
Looks like a stand off in Mordor. NG didn’t advance, but neither did the DS horde. Why swat the hornets nest until your ready I guess? I haven’t seen the NG turn yet either, so I’m not sure what happened there. We are very happy with our NG player to date, he has done a fine job.
Cloak of Abyss for Bain’s 10 pt commander arty and weapon. Not a bad trade. I really don’t count Elenruth as you probably should have owned that anyway. (Poor Orduclax). We were hoping for another lucky roll against Kadida, but such is life…
The last two turns have been a near vacuum; void of trash talk banter from the evil dudes. The first two turns we debated if the game was already over, victory “nearly” declared by the evils. POW! Eothraim slaughtered bigtime and huge victory by the DS team. The goodies take it on the chin but keep on dancing. Bob and weeve, stick and move. The market is insanely manipulated to keep the evils fat and happy, but we keep plugging away, striping North Harad of assets, reducing Rhudaur’s holdings, keeping some pressure on the artifact hunt, doing the little things. Where did the grunting and groaning from the Cloudie and his team go? Hopefully a little surprised that we still remain on our feet and ready to go some distance in this game. No fat ladies singing yet, except for the ones with beards in Gobo-gate, and soon to be Cameth Brin.
Well Dave dwarf, you folks start with a lot of military power and you managed to take
two major towns so far and got one MT back in six turns, no biggie considering you’ve spend so many troops. While losing Dilgul too, to inferior numbers.
We’ll win but it’ll take some time as things do in this game, and yes we had no luck with the artefact when the game started. Do you think it looks like you’ll win?
Do corsairs and eothraim belong to the same player?
Ah yes, the victory banter, there is a slight difference between claiming a turn in the favour of the lidless eye and declaring total victory. In the latter case noone would have been left in doubt:D. But pointing out that northern Harad is being sacked equals: We havent lost yet!!! The failure of having sacked anything there by now would have been a clear regional victory for us. We might be evil, but it would be very cruel indeed to point out things as I do now:D. Now that I have made it clear that we are not cruel:rolleyes:, we are enjoing the battle, it is the challenge that makes the game fun. You havent mentioned Dol Guldur with one word, I understand that the short ones are very happy about hanging out at Gobo Gate, would it not be something to own Dol Guldur too? We are very happy too - with the Woodmen approach, he just pops by, says “Hi” and leaves again without doing too much damage. Witchy has the impression that you are going lightly on him because he is a newbie, is that so? Dont hope the pirate is a newbie, as things down there are going bad for him.
Cruelty is a matter of opinion. I don’t think our team is going to develop thin skin anytime soon, we enjoy the banter and win or lose we are having fun. So point out what you think is important, maybe I’ll even answer you.
Dol Goldur: Well, Drglrd capital wasn’t really in our short-term strategic plan. I’m sure the DLrd is happy about it now. We chose to defend the Sinda cities from a Reveal/Attack manuever from the Drglrd, which paid off for us, and focus on the Misty Mtns/Rhuduar. Obviously can’t say what the future plans for Dol Goldur are exactly, but can tell you that it is in our strategic plan to take it at some point in our campaign. Maybe even the Dwarves will add it to our vacation resort asset portfolio sometime soon.
WitchKing/Newbie question: There is a Dwarf belief that Murazor showed kindness to Lord Falin and “allowed” him to escape. Some Dwarves believe that the Witchking is actually a dwarf on stilts under a big suit of black armor, just acting like a Nazgul power hungry killing/cursing machine. Regardless, speaking only on behalf of the Dwarven High Council, we wish no hostilities with the WitchKing at this time due to his “perceived” act of kindness to Lord Falin. But that may change if the strange wart/boil disease bothering Lord Fulla is linked the the Witchking’s Necromancers.
Corsair/Pirate Question: No, the Corsair nation is run by a very competent respected player. But to reciprocate what you said, we expect some damage from your team, maybe at the corsairs expense, time will tell the extent of it.
Agreed on the game status, I think we have a decent game that could run awhile yet.
Seems that your Cameth Brin sacking armies were tacnuked, so Rhudaur will keep his capitol a little longer:D. Only one army disbanded, its disgraceful - two is the absolut minimum pr turn, must avoid ol´Sauron for time being - as not to be fined for incompetence. Someone started the kidnap season and it wasnt me, maybe I should join in soon - note to self - keep clear of Sauron. To be continued*
Pulled the Dragon Kurzadrepa out of the hat you did. Sucked bigtime as we had the Rhuduar’s a&& in a sling. 1910 will fall this turn, and we’ll have to work at 2008 another day. Such is life, only way out of a tough spot and you had the Ace in your hand…
But other than my turn is looking sad, so far the rest seem ok, haven’t seen them all. I’m replacing all my top commanders right now and not too happy about it, but we knew going in that commanders are expendable…
Right, pulled an ugly, scaly, firespewing, lizardlike bunny out of the hat and it saved the day. We are quite happy with the outcome, although things went not as planned. Not freepeoble merry-happy, more like snickering evil smiling happy:D, Arfanhil a little less so cause he stepped into a huge pile of dragondroppings. Seasonchange is coming, spring is upon us, nature awakes its beauty and some ugly things too. Enjoy the beauty and avoid the lizards.
One thing baffles me, do the Northmen like dragons or is it just an unhealthy obsessesion about Dilgul? The Woodmen lost the second army at Buhr Fram and are now only second to the Eos in dead commanders. Others are still in the race as you surely know were Ji is this turn.
Major blunder:eek: this turn, you will never know what has happened, maybe I tell you when the game is over.
Ok Loke, I’ll admit it, they’ll know sooner or later anyway, dressing up as a elf was a bad call:eek: but still I like golden tights…
Well freeps you seem to haven taken up some drive in NW, first MT in what will it be 8 turns, with that rate we’ll be out of there in turn 32 wow, talking about blitztzt krieg.
First MT in 8 turns? Not sure what you are talking about? Angmar? Not sure if you count Gobo-gate or not? I do. However our early tactics for the Rhuduar was not his MTs, as he already knows. I admit we have stalled in the NW for the most part. Finally you just got lucky with the Dragon at Cameth Brin; to have one fall in your lap that early, and in the right spot, that is just good timing. At least we have the Rhuduar funding that huge army doing absolutely nothing.
Admittedly we have to do a better job in the future in this game, and you guys are a really good team. We are discovering our weaknesses in this game, and learning a lot from our mistakes and your good fortune.
Going to be a nice battle at Ithil this turn, and 1910 should be a slam dunk, no hope of a dragon there; thanks to some blocking manuevers. Expect some more pressure soon WK.
