Game 81 Grudge Begins

Hi Dave

Sounds good, maybe I have to convince my comrades to do a little glastnost and perestroika. Their concern with secrecy, makes Andropov look like an old chattering lady running the KGB as an advertising company. With a possible rematch following, it might be compared to talking a brickwall into levitation.

I hope we agree on an exchange of pdf´s or even inviting each other into our yahoo-groups. But that may be something many turns in the future, the fat bearded lady has to sing about the million dollar chicken prior to that.

Loke/Holger:D:D:D

Of course everyone else needs to agree to any exchange and I don’t speak for my team either on total release of info. However a chat room visit about the game when it is done shouldn’t be out of the question at a minimum.

Do you or your teammates play anything besides ME-PBM? Just curious?

Dave

Hi Dave

Most of us play something else, besides this and other mepbm games. Ranging from bordgames to poker to other internetbased games. Some of us played a lot rpg´s, axis and allies, diplomacy, marchiavelli, but now its mostly 1650 due to old age and senility. No more popping down to the netcafé and playing Cossacks on the mucho boring sundays.

Loke:D:D:D

Greetings, dear free victims

What were those darned Woses doing in MI? - we would have lost anyways. Our own fault and no problem at all. Fennas Drunin destroyed, too bad.

At least 3 armies disbanded, one commander cursed, ~ 4 assassed, ~ 2 challenges won and so on, this turn has again shown us favour. The Woodmen are very brave, but not lucky nor realistic; failing to steal from Kadida, bungling the kidnap of Urzi:D. Desperate times call for desperate actions:D.

Waiting for the last 2 pdf´s.

Snickering Loke:D:D:D

Only 2 missing pdfs? I’ve only seen 4 so far. I haven’t seen NG’s turn, glad to hear your front door has been blown off via your report.

Dwarf

Down to 1 now, have a good impression of the turn now, economy is excellent, plans have succeeded, you will see the consequenses of one of them next turn - muhahahahaha (evil-type-laughter).

Now down and meet and greet some of my teammates.

Loke:D:D:D

Halftime score for characters

DS scored
7 kills and 2 captured during combat. 1 died in combat.

Freeps scored
1 kill and thats about, it isnt?

Army-wise it was more or less draw, though its looks a little better for the corsairs now that SG has come along and NG pushed forwards.
Klyaxar are very disappointed with the lack of northmen troops in Dilgul btw.

A little update

Top 10 of missing chars Turn 08.

  1. Sinda: 3 coms assassed, 1 drowned, 1 lost challenge, 1 cursed (Where is Lanthir the last?)
  2. Corsairs: 3 coms assassed, 2 in the sack
  3. Eothraim: 4 coms assassed
  4. Woodmen: 3 coms assassed, 1 lost challenge (Guntram will be here soon enough:D)
  5. Rhudaur: 2 in the sack, 1 KiA
  6. Northmen: 2 coms assassed, 1 in the sack
  7. Dwarves: 1 com assassed, 1 KiA (Fulla was weakened by his wart and boils decease)
  8. Drag Lord: 2 lost challenges (Orduclax, the only char without com. skill in this list)
  9. Cardolan: 1 assassed, 1 KiA
  10. Arthedain: 1 in the sack
  11. QA & Harad: 1 drowned each
  12. NG: 1 lost challenge
  13. Witchy: 1 assassed
    xx. Cloudie: Nil

This may not be the excact count, but one thing is for sure: Sinda has only one starter char with com skill left:D.

Loke:D:D:D

Methinks Cloudie should be looking to donating one or two of his heads at 2711 to the list. We hate snakes and characters with snakey names…

Dr. J. - great to have you post.

What comes around, goes around as the old saying goes. I think by turn 16 we will see some changes in the ratio on the character loss board, unless we continue to have poor luck. We’ve had some very poor die rolls in this game to date.

I think we are safe to say that we have our first kingdom totally dependent on charity now. I doubt the Rhuduar has more than 5 tax producing pop centers left, and a huge deficit to boot. One messed up gold shipment and he is done, not that it is a big loss…

Still haven’t seen the NG turn yet.

Dave
Dwarf

Well, Rhudaur might not have that much of a tax base.
But the sell limit still exceeds my deficit, and with 3000+ br at store I will manage.
Also nice to have the br somewhere else than the capital, selling for 27000 with a crummy emisary at a camp is much better than having to RfsPers/NatSell at the cap. in order to be sure to sell.

Simon

Dear victims and prime victims

Yes, Rhudaur is a complete failure, he didnt manage to protect himself from Arthedain, Cardolan, Duns and Dwarves. Calling upon help from Witchy makes this performance even worse. Our punishment will be the following: He will not recieve more than 50k gold a turn, his dragon allowance will be cut back to 3 and he has to say please if he wants a new popcenter.

Ji Indur has a burning wish to examine Guntrams head, as mentioned before he tried to abduct Urzahil, either he is completly insane or he has just lost his marbles (if this was one the bad die rolls you were referring to, well then dont act that surprised). Further there is a little matter between Ji and Guntram, he stole a ragged old cloak from Erennis - now he wants it back, its freezing cold up there in Angmar. You know how Uncle Ji loves to settle many complicated intertwining issues with as little effort as possible. He has also very devided feelings about donations, his code of honour does simply not allow him to give things away. If the donation is about him getting something for free, he has no objections at all:D.

At last, the first real curse team is spreading death, a certain amount of bungling and bad luck delayed them. With a little luck we disbanded some 2½k Sinda troops and prevented 1k being recruited; not bad. Our Drag Lord must feel quite confident of not only keeping his keep, but also aquiring new real estate soon. First he will grill some Woodmen with his little handy 15 ton toaster Urial, then he will clean up Mirkwood with a little help from Witchy. Maybe even the shorties will show up and give Rhudaur a break, at least that is a very good excuse not to meet his dragons:D.

The simple score:

Dead (total): Rich Servants vs Freeps : 24 - 6
Hostages__ : ----------------------- : 4 - 2

Lets see how many there are left to unleash their assassins and curse teams on us in t16.

Lucky Loke:D:D:D

What, the Rhudaur can speak. I was beginning to think they were mutes. I must have struck a cord with you guys, look at all the trash written so quickly.

Of course the market is keeping you alive, duh. We simply can’t get organized enough to stop it. BAD TEAM! At this point I’m ready to just join in, I have over 4,000 bronze to sell myself. What are we buying next turn, I’ll join in.

As for the kidnapping of Urazhil, it was a better than 50/50 that he would be in our prison last turn. You remember better than 50/50 don’t you? But won’t convince you now as you’ll see it as propoganda, but if/when we exchange turns you’ll see the light.

It has taken us a while, but you should see more character action from this point forward. Hopefully luck will turn around for us, it has been a rather unlucky game for us when it comes to the law of averages.

Dave

Hi Dave

It is as I expected; If you cant beat them - Join them. Excellent! (pronounced the way Monty Burns does it:D).

It really hurts one to see the darks getting rich so easily, in addition to stealing all they can carry from you (10k robbed in Minas A. this turn -$:D, approx. 20k from Sinda -$$:D), I have been on the other side and loathed it. The most important part was to get us through the winter without economic hardship, but we are getting used to an expensive way of life on the Dark Side, so we will certainly continue with it. Buy a ticket for the big market lottery, maybe you will win.

Obnoxious (Rich) Loke$:D$:D$:D$

PS. The stealing was not done by Uncle Ji and Comrades, not their kind of trade.

Oh you mean you had a 50 rank agent trying to kidnap 100 + rank character and the chances of getting a succes was better than 50%, but comparing pdfs will most likely show that you were the lucky side

BTW You can PM me and we’ll sort out how to run buy out on our own;)

Greetings Freeps

What no bragging about the Gondorian army in BU, its large too and we are very afraid:D.

Oh by the way, Guntram is a nit loaded with arties, there is no substitute for natural talent.

Loke:D:D:D

Loke,

Brag? Us? We had the Woses, and that was just luck that they joined us and poisoned darted your whole army in the 1st round, so I don’t really see a point in bragging about it. It would be like you bragging about having a dragon to save a capital MT. The real question is what we plan to do now that the door is open. If our plans succeed there, then we will brag.

Dave
Dwarf

Loke,

On Guntram, we are not blessed with natural talented agents like yours. Why not hand over your teams agent artys if you’re so inclined to trash Guntram on possessing them.

Dwarf

Greetings those who sport longer beards than legs.

Two big C´s are no longer, Cirdan and Celdrahil recieved their just fate for opposing the Master af Darkness (MaD). Ji again showed his talent for solving more than one task at hand, Elrond is now the uncontested leader of the Nelves - now we have to see if he hounors his part of this arrangement:D.

A bit more will follow when the other .pdfs pop up.

Snickering Loke:D:D:D

You guys definitely have recruiting dragons down to an art form. I think we had 5 battles with dragons involved this turn. At least 2 of those top commanders died in the battles. Hopefully the dragons will take some Red Bull or something and start moving more on you all.

Still have yet to see the poor Sinda turn. Other than that turn, we were pleased with the results. Imaldris returns to the goodies this turn, unless I decide just to destroy it. Shame really, a good spot for a Dwarven pub. I’m sure the Noldo are grinding teeth over the idea of Dwarves in Rivendall.
