Game 81 Grudge Begins

Hi John

The dragons go to the com with the highest combined natural skillrank, mostly at least, there is a random factor.

My observation is that recourses on the market “disapear” to compensate for the production. There is less steel on the market than we sold this turn.

Loke:D:D:D

Loke,

Thanks for the info on the Dragons. In my other game I needed to know as we can go recruit a few more also based on where these 2 go. Great job on your Dragons in this game.

Also, thanks for the Market info - I coordinated this Market sell this but for some reason selling about 5k BR only limited your effect…haha…if you do not mind sometime I would really like to see what you guys did in the market so as to learn from you. I do not know if you track it on a spreadsheet or not but just curious so I can get better myself.

Thanks again for the info - John

Ah yes - the dragons - they have saved many a battle and will do so in future, but we must consider the treason of Scorba, joining a Noldo army - what a disgrace.

As for the market manipulation, I guess we go about it like all other do, adding only a little rifinement or two. The most important part is ofcourse having the gold in the first place, then you will get more of it - unfair as it is we enjoy it. If you dont use AutoMinister I suggest you check it out, it gives you team economy at a glance. Dave and I discussed the exchange of pdfs etc previously, if we reach an agreement on that at game end you can eventually get all the info you like (a post mortem discussion may be of common interest too). Would be kind of suicidal to reveal too much if a rematch is agreed upon, but it will give us a chance to see if it can be successfully countered as I suspect it can.

If your team had not sold the 5k bronze the sell price would most likely have been 11 or higher instead of 8 like it is now. Your efforts were not in vain, far from it, but we still sell our bronze for the double. Remember the first bronze buyout with the 350% price increase.

Loke:D:D:D

Loke & Co.

I still think sharing pdfs at the end of the game, even if there is a rematch, would be a win/win as by helping us learn from you will only make you all better in the long run. Old Biblical saying, “Iron sharpens Iron”. Doubt we have anything in our pdfs that would help you, but you never know. I’m kinda hoping that the new ME 7 on 7 game comes out before we end this game, maybe our rematch can be in that format.

Just saw the NG turn, looks like you may have a human pest problem inside Mordor. I’m not sure those little militia armies you sent to stop them are enough? Doubt the WK/Rhu will like you pulling your assassins back to Mordor much… Kudos to Lord Tarandor!

Greetings

Yes, well done by the Gondorians, they now stand in the desolate desert of the Mordor theme park. Their brilliant plan has a little flaw though, they forgot to buy tickets at the entrance, Ren wasnt too happy about that. Really, we cant have them getting in for free, they have the option of leaving quietly or getting processed into dogfood, we prefer the last one as we have plenty of wargs and dragons to feed. Enjoy the sights while you can and prepare to be canned.

Loke:D:D:D

Gondorians paid a price for entry if I remember, they left nearly 12,000 orc and troll heads at the Ithil pass. I would imagine that the Mordor citizens had a feast cleaning up that battle and are already fat and happy. Meat is Meat. I think the Gondorian army should get a free pass to the MT of their chosing.

Dave
Dwarf

Ok, Ok, I do know the Woses helped a little in that battle, but…

And that would be ? Osgiliath

“Their choosing”, even the Dwarves can’t tell a Gondorian what to do, what makes you think he’ll listen to an orc?

I’m just interested in knowing what you’ll have to sacrifice to stop him?

Dave
Dwarf

Excerpt from the Sauron approved dictionary:

Sacrifice: Common practise among elven and elven manipulated nations, there is no word for or even concept of sacrifice in Dark Speach or Thought. Now forget all about it and report to a brainscrubbing session at Mount Dumb.

One last request to the encircled Duns and Gondorians: Please dont wash before the battle, all cans have been marked: New - Now with the smell of fear.

Loke:D:D:D

Oops, sacrifice wasn’t the right term. Probably should have should which kingdom(s) are you going to let go through the right of survival? Your agents can’t be everywhere…

On the note about armies, I agree, however the Cloudie has been very good about slowing our recruiting efforts, so unfortunately the forums focus on the agent game. It also helps that the Cloudlord is your most frequented author on the forum. Of course I agree with you that armies are the most important factor of the game.

I it funny that we are in Mordor and you’re in Rhun/Mirkwood, containment seems to be an issue for both sides…

On another note, just glad we are not playing the whiners in 238. If there is ever a problem between our 2 groups, I expect to clear it up outside the forums through regular email. I don’t believe in airing our dirt.

Dave
Dwarf

I agree, Dave, and in the very unlikely event we should have a problem between our teams, we should keep our differences on regular emails. I’m sure that both our teams know when its time to stop and congratulate the winning (not whining) side.
Speaking of the road to winning, I’m really looking forward to this particular turn, I think we might have one or two surprises for you guys.
How will things go in mirkwood and NW

PS. Dear D(ave)warf please get back on the buyout thing on mithrill as you promised, we split it right?

Surprises shouldn’t be one sided this turn, as I believe we have a few for you too. Should be an interesting turn for both sides I believe, assuming your surprises are “really” unknown to me. Your army build up in Mirkwood really isn’t a surprise to us, so I’m assuming you mean something else…

Buyout mithril. Got it. 50/50 split? No can do. We will keep the Mithil, can’t sell it, much too precious…

Dave
Dwarf

Ofcourse, the Dwarves and their peculiar fondness for preciouzzzz metals, what a shame we connot steal your Mithril. I guess one of your surprises is about a Cactus - Caractactus, cant remember what the thing is called.

About the less than gentlemenlike mudslinging contest in 238, I think we have no reason nor motivation to fear or emulate that.

All the talk about agents was primarily about them whacking army commanders and disbanding their troops:D. Successes have been far apart lately, must do something about that.

Loke:D:D:D

Yes we buy together, but we dont sell it of course. We hoard it or use it as armour on our hobbitzes… Come on be a nice greedy Dwarf ( )…

Dwarves don’t outfit Hobbits! That is outrageous to think a hobbit in battle, what idiot would dream up such a thing. We already have 1500 HI in mitril/mithril, so we have no real need to work the markets for our ore. We dig deep at Moria for there are rich veins down there. Found some strange symbols a few weeks ago, ancient they were, don’t know what they mean yet, but we’ll keep digging to find out.

We’ll consider your offer. Go ahead and buy Mithril and we’ll join in if we have the spare market order…

Dave
Dwarf

Dear Loke,

Agreed, your luck has bounced back, maybe the law of averages? It also helps that we have taken measures against you the best we could, not that we can stop your unethical practices all together, but at least slow it down some. I imagine the gold stealling horde is about trained up enough to start learning the art of death, but hopefully our counter measures will hold tight.

Looking forward to Friday, hopefully your “surprises” won’t be too demoralizing and we have another turn like last turn.

Be greated those who are brave* enough to oppose the nasty and greedy Master of Darkness

Not bad - not bad at all, the silly intruders have been caught and canned as I promised. The pirates are still twitching and moaning, lots of dead and disbanded troops down there. The South Gondorian hostile takeover of North Harad has been halted and once again one of his armies has vanquished there. The Eos are under a lot of pressure and wont last long. The market is still ours, despite all the attempts too sabotage our “goldmine”. The killing and stealing continues unhindered.

Happy and snickering - Loke:D:D:D

*brave could be read as foolish

Well, that turn wasn’t bad but could have been much better, mainly due to two of our veteran players making some careless mistakes, but hey, we all make mistakes.

Corsairs are under some pressure as is the Eothraim, but a long way off from elimination. No mention of the lonely Rhudaur however; he days in Angmar are growing very short, much like a dwarf’s height. Not much left of his original population. I’m assuming you gave him a summer home? I’m also assuming the WK is starting to see some pressure now that his shield bearer is nearly gone? All those nice upgraded cities and MTs for us to swallow up.

Yep, you took out the expedition into Mordor, I thought the Woses would do more damage to you, as I was suprised your armies survived. I thought it would be a mutual elimination.

Dwarven empire continues to grow, beware little bearded children everywhere!!

Dave
Dwarf

Dear imperalistic Dwarves and compatriots

After 5½ months of incessesant fighting in Angmar the Rhudaurs still have their capital, taking into account that he fights with no less than 5 nations armies, is pursued by agents and emisaries, having very bad luck with his commanders getting killed and captured, he has done very fine job of keeping you busy. Both Witchy and Rhudaur were very happy about the fate of Gaerdaes army - flattened -, Scorba, the little traitor, got away though.

If the Eos dont control the north-northeast of Morannon (Romenost & Thorontir), then who does? If the Eoplex is threatened, who can defend it? The very moment the Eos have lost the initiative it is only a matter of time before they are defeated. A war of attrition favours the armies of Sauron.

The North Gondorians aided by the Dunlendian Donkeyriders did put pressure on us by invading Mordor, but they did not do any damage so we are back to a standoff in the pass of Minas Ithil.

With the exception of N. Harad and Angmar all the fighting is situated in and around your (former) popcenters, this is a very bad omen as we should be defending ourselves - not our gains.
