There is not much point in chatting with people who had decided which side to join before a turn had even been submitted. Besides posts by certain DS nations earlier in this thread were met with hostility.
Too bad you feel that way. Magic swords and dragons…for those of us who play, there’s always something to chat about! Bitterness and seriousness is really unbecoming most of the time. Spats of emotional venting, sure, but a rebound into perspective is always appreciated.
It isn’t the cat that has got there tongue – it sorelosing it seems – I for one didn’t on turn 0 decide to join the freeps – I would say it was more around turn 2 from not hearing from any of the Dogs of Sauron , But am not gonna get into that again , and looking back over the post I don’t see any real hostility towards anyone !!
This is the source of inferred hostility, I believe. Hey, I also noted during private email communications to the DS that diplomacy is a key skill in open games - if you can’t or don’t you won’t get neutrals. If you routinely don’t get neutrals, you’ll routinely be outmanned. If you are routinely outmanned, you will routinely lose. It’s really no secret.
Gotta be having fun too. Sure there are some neuts who play “in character” and demand private emails promising artifacts and pop transfers, etc. The vast majority are just average chaps playing a fantasy game for amusement and would prefer to engage in open discourse with like minded people. Take out the seriousness, have a good time, play around a bit, and people will be attracted to your cause.
To be fair, I had decided by turn 0 to join the Free. Sorry, it just seemed like the right thing to do.

Not really the best game of ME-PBM I’ve ever been in. The DS are still hanging on in there, though, despite everybody and his wife taking the easy option ^^
LOL – didn’t lose your sense of Humor – liked that , gave me a chuckle – some games are like that doomed from the begining , don’t see this game lasting much longer unless you guys come up with something spectacular – told you we had plans for Duns and Easterlings – both so far are stopped in there tracks and seems our plan against the duns worked to well !!

I’m a little confused, the DS team voted to concede the game.
If so – some Dark servant has sent in orders and had them run – my guess would be Cloud lord as Eothraim had 4 characters assasinated !!
Looking over some of the other freep turns – one player that definately had to run his turn if the evils dropped is Cloud Lord – we did Scout pop orders in a number of his towns and they still in 50’s - 60’s loyalties and not to mention at least 4 assasination occured to freeps this turn – looks like he is making up for his failures in begining of game !! Oh well at least we know who to concentrate on now !!
Didn’t the Easterlings move too? Didn’t someone move forward at Ithil also? We’re not stopping until we get the official mail.

TBH that would be quite symptomatic of some of the players on the DS team. Completely ignoring the Yahoo group e-mails and doing exactly what they want despite discussions or requests from others.
Some of the people on the DS team should have been in school, not wasting everybody’s time soloing in a team game. Not at all surprised if it was the Cloud Lord, he set the tone by disbanding his armies on turn 1 and continued from there.
